I don’t mind waiting but we as a smaller party should not have to wait for a large party table to come open to be seated. Most restaurants seat a party in order but as tables come open to fit the party. The hostess is always hateful every time we go and is difficult to talk to without getting defensive. The hostel is fine with the people she knows. It’s like this every time we come here. Two hours just to eat breakfast at 9:00 in the morning. It was already lunch time waiting 40 min for our food.

Have been eating here many years. Portion size for seafood is getting a little small. Owner says he's trying to not raise prices, which is understandable given average age and appetite of customer. However, small and large could have more of a variance in portion or add an extra large option, etc. You used to get a heap of shrimp with the large, now it just lays flat on the plate. For the price it's still a good value and the other options haven't gotten as small. Just ate there this week and had to eat again later... With the drive and the wait (depending on time of dinner), just not as good as it once was. Id gladly pay a little more for a bigger portion.

Ok we had a party of a whole lot. ?? We were taken care of by 1 just 1 amazing waitress. I can only speak for myself when I say my whole fried flounder was simply delicious. Live this spot. ?
Our favorite spot in Southport for a good meal! The homemade chips with ranch dressing is the absolute best!

We ate breakfast here on our vacation in Southport. The food was delicious and the waitress was very friendly. And the prices were unbelievable compared to other places we ate breakfast at in Kure Beach and Southport. Better part of $40 for 2 people just about anywhere except here. It was $21 and lots of food on both our plates! Thank you to Locals Family Diner! Lord willing, we’ll definitely eat here again next time we’re in town!

Vegetarian options: The butter beans, collard greens, green beans, and fried okra are delicious! They should have the butter beans and collards on the menu every day.
