Great Southern comfort food, super friendly service, reasonable prices. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are all very good. Feels like a trip back into the comfort food diners of the 60s and 70s.

We love Locals. Hands down the best and most affordable breakfast option in town. The staff is always lovely and accommodating. Food is exactly what you want from a southern establishment calling itself a diner.

What happened to our favorite local restaurant!? We went for Valentine's Day for the specials and everything was "sold out". The steak & baked potato specials had cold (literally would not melt butter) instant mashed potatoes. No garlic bread for the Alfredo special and steaks. Then to dessert and the chocolate pie & cheesecake special which was not available. This wasn't a "we came too late issue." We got there early and waited in the car for 20 minutes for a table. The kicker to the whole night!?...The staff came out while we were still ordering the dessert (which we were told was sold out) with whole pie plates and one of the people (I honestly think it was the owner or manager) stuck his hand in the plate and got him a piece of the supposed sold out dessert. $100 for a meal for 3 and we ended up at DQ for a blizzard STAY AWAY!!!
Delicious food, great service. Don’t go to Southport without eating here.

Maybe we caught this place on a bad day based on other reviews but we were very unimpressed with this "local favorite". Got a biscuit & gravy, side of hashbrowns. Biscuit was dense and under cooked, gravy tasted like straight flour and was cakey. Hashbrowns very under cooked and not crispy at all. My partner said his pancakes were also very dense and left half his bacon on the plate as it was very fatty and not crispy either. We were excited to try Local's based on the high reviews but I doubt we will be back.
