Southern is always amazing. The food, the service and bartending is always top notch. It is why I'll always go back.

Excellent food options with the right amount of food portions. Just a very pleasant atmosphere and friendly staff. Parking can be a challenge but you can find street parking within a block

We have eaten here several times and continue to think it is a fabulous addition to Southport. It most definitely is the best meal we have ever had in Southport or Oak Island, and having a house here we eat out a good bit. All four of our meals were fantastic.

Wonderful experience from quality to service. Loved so much we have reservations again next week.

Farm to table experience. Everything was fresh and delicious. Very good selection of appetizers amd cocktails. Did not have any greens but dive have the entree special. Trigger fish and a blueberry compote. Plus we had scallops and grits. Both perfect. Limited entree selection, but it was so good, who cares. Dessert was peach cobbler and a deconstructed s'more. Also fabulous. Definitely a place to go. About $100 per person with bar tab.

Absolutely phenomenal! Each dish was beautifully presented, perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor. You can tell there's real care, creativity and quality ingredients behind everything they serve. Service was warm, attentive and genuinely welcoming. Carl did an excellent job and elevated the whole experience.

Locally sourced and great local flavors. Our server, Cameron, suggested scallops and grits for me and grilled pork chops for my husband. Both dishes were perfectly prepared and delicious. Cameron's mom can cook!

This was the first time that we have dined at Southern and now it's our new favorite place in Southport/OKI. Our waitress was phenomenal and very friendly. She gave us a quick run down of the menu with expertise and we settled on our meals thanks to her recommendations. The food was amazing and everything was so fresh thanks to their farm to table approach. Definitely the best food that we've had in the area. I'm a big foodie and I have been searching for a place that provides great tasting food and I am so glad we tried Southern. The atmosphere is fun and not stuffy. They have an extensive drinks menu with prices that tend to be higher than other restaurants in the area . The overall food prices are high, but I think it's worth the cost. We liked Southern so much that we have already booked another reservations for our Anniversary.

As outlandish as it may sound, restaurants and chefs like those at Southerns exemplify why we cherish freedom and the spirit of a civilized society. The artistry and passion evident in every dish are truly remarkable. My scallop and grits dish was a masterclass in both flavor and texture. Each component—the bite of the scallop, the creamy grits, and the bacon—blended seamlessly into a single, harmonious bite bursting with flavor.

I have traveled the world and dined at Michelin-starred establishments, yet Southerns is only the second restaurant where I felt compelled to personally thank the chef for an unforgettable meal. Chef Ashley, who is also one of the owners, should be immensely proud of the extraordinary cuisine she creates for her guests. Truly exceptional.

Her son was also our waiter and did a fantastic job explaining the meals and food!
