I have been going here since I was a kid with my Papa. Amazing owners and food! Please make this a stop on your Southport adventure! As a local I, Carolina Beach, I will always go (out of my way if needed) to this hotdog shop.

What should have been an easy question to someone at a place that pretty much sells hotdogs seemed like I was quizzing on quantum physics - the question being, “What brand of hot dogs?”
Fat, bearded Southern boy behind the counter seemed to be stumped, mumbled like he had a mouthful of marbles something about all being different and turned to poorly delivered sarcasm when then asked what they had to put on the dogs.
Still ate one of their basic dogs. It was missing something…..flavor.

The food is amazing! Closest thing I’ve found in NC to. Melvin’s Pool Room burger. It gets very busy and you can definitely get overlooked in line. One of the staff even thought I skipped the line although I had been waiting close to 30 minutes. I know he didn’t see me but it was a bit disappointing for him to just assume that. Will definitely still go back and highly recommend trying this place while in town! Just be mindful it can get crowded and the folks working may not notice you’ve been waiting to be served.
