This place is such a gem, the food is amazing, Roxie (chef and owner I think) came out and chatted with my 75 year old dad like they were old friends. This is my hometown and we were there for an extended stay after the hurricane and we frequented this spot. We absolutely did. It expect such great, unique food in spindale. Loved it. The bang bang fries and jerk chicken are THE BEST.

I had a meeting here today and the food was unreal. Truly one of the best meals I’ve ever had. I can’t wait to bring my wife here on a date. We went to Jamaica for our honeymoon and this was better than the food we ate then. Roxanne who owns Rock Steady is amazing. 10/10 food and experience.

Fantastic spot with delicious Caribbean Cuisine & Soul Food. Great staff! Helpful and friendly. They also offer a food truck on selected evenings and a big selection of specialty coffee drinks, refreshers with many options for those with food sensitivities. Live music on Tuesday nights. They also have beer, wine and mocktails infused with CBD. Awesome things going on here : )

My husband and I were in Spindale to bring our bike to the bike shop there. We asked the owners what is the best place in town for lunch. Immediately they said Rock Steady Caribbean Cuisine. They were right. Chef Roxie was so nice coming out to meet us and chat and the food was spiced and cooked perfectly. I had the jerk chicken sandwich on brioche bun with rice and peas. I felt like I was in the islands...what a treat. It is apparent Chef Roxie puts her heart and soul into her food and restaurant and I highly recommend you try it. All the best to you Chef Roxie.

First time stopping into this wonderful little eatery. I was thoroughly happy with my meal. The owner is a gem. Flavors are out of sight! This expat from Florida has made this little corner of NC a tropical paradise with her robust, authentic Jamaican flavors and her infectious jovial island temperment. Ya' Mon' come catch the island vibe at Rock Steady!

Was really excited to try Rock Steady on account of the outstanding reviews.. however, I was a little disappointed with the food. First of all, I want to say Chef Roxie is super sweet, and I would definitely come back and try other items on the menu, or even just for a beef patty. The beef patties are Golden Krust patties- can’t go wrong there for a tasty snack. I ordered the brown stewed chicken and a fried chicken sandwich. The stewed chicken was not the typical Jamaican stewed chicken which should have a darker, rich coating. It seemed more like chicken tossed in a light colored sauce. It was still good but not what I expected. As for the fried chicken sandwich- I really was expecting a big, succulent piece of chicken in a homemade batter along with some Caribbean accoutrements, but it was a bun with a frozen patty- the kind you’d get at a school cafeteria. The cornbread was not homemade (as it looked in some of the photos from other reviewers)- it was definitely pre-packaged, and my stewed chicken only came with half of a cornbread piece (see photos). Again, it’s great having a Jamaican restaurant in town and I’d still come back when I need a Caribbean fix.
