I had the ribeye steak sandwich with garlic risotto and it was wonderful! Staff was friendly and the restaurant is very well setup, minus the table we sat at was near the front door and it was in the 30's outside so we kept getting a blast of cold air. Just ask not to sit there if you dont like the cold. Great date night stop!

The food I got was fantastic. I had all sides and they were so delicious. There was so much I had enough to take home for the next couple of days.

We had a wonderful meal here in April 2025 and decided to visit again for a meal yesterday November 21st. We both ordered the same meal that we had ordered previously and we were quite disappointed. I had shrimp and grits, and the grits were solid and cold. There was too much bacon in the grits which overpowered the meal. It's seems that my husband's hamburger had been sitting under the heat lamp for too long and was dried out by the time he began to eat it.
The overall experience was good. This was our second visit to 220 Cafe. The wait staff was accommodating but a little slow in taking our order as she was also bartending and making drinks for her tables. Food was very good.
The redhead server has a HORRIBLE attitude. Rolled her eyes at us and walked away mid sentence as we were trying to ask a question about the bill. Absolutely horrible service.

Let me begin by saying the food here is good. We have been coming once a week for a little over a month. I love the salmon. With that being said, I’ve never seen such rude, snoody staff. Inconsistent pricing on the same items ordered, and the inability to make adjustments to issues when they arise. The menu says one price and they’ll argue with you when they charge you more than is posted. I want to support our local restaurants but when you feel unwanted or out of place, it’s difficult to do.

My steak sandwich was one big piece of gristle. The knife would not even cut through it. They took it back and made me a prime rib sandwich instead which was marginally better. The cheddar broccoli soup was really good but came out barely warm and had to he reheated. Service was okay. My moms glazed salmon was very good. Overall disappointing for the cost

The food was quite flavorful, and our party of four thought everything was delicious! It would be nice if a meal of that caliber included a small salad, but you only get one side choice with an meal. The risotto I chose was very good and the perfect compliment to the stuffed chicken. There was a guitarist playing who I very much enjoyed. It is a very loud room, despite the ceiling baffles that are in place. We could still converse, but it was a bit difficult for us old folks lol. The service was timely and attentive enough. It seemed that our waitress was spread thin, but she still handled our table well. We suspect she was having a bad day because she did not say "hello" or tell us her name, nor smile at all. Despite any slight negatives, we would return because the food was tasty.
Great food and wine. Service was great, atmosphere was nice, only complaint was a noise coming from a machine in the kitchen when we first arrived. Otherwise the atmosphere was very nice.

Restaurantji Recommends
After reading other reviews we decide to try this restaurant. I highly recommend this restaurant based on the food which was fantastic, the service was really great and the atmosphere was soothing to the soul. We drove over an hour to get to this location and will definitely be going back. I had the cranberry chicken salad which usually the chicken is just okay but this one the chicken was wonderful. Everyone at our table enjoyed their meal.

Service was outstanding! Friendly, responsive, and efficient. We were there on a weeknight and the environment was warm and inviting! Food was good, not great overall which was surprising as previous experiences would have had the food as great! Bottom line, good time, reasonable pricing, nice environment, nice time!
We waited a long time for our food

We love Cafe 220. The food is always expertly prepared and delicious. One of Statesville's best dining options.
Gee, I sure wish the restaurant I read the reviews for resembled the 220 Cafe we
tried. Trust me; we went to where the cafe is located, but our experience sure wasn’t anything like other reviewers shared. We ordered the Wayus burger which should have been named the “why us” burger. It was ordered well done, but was delivered still in death throes — bloody and raw. Given the heat of the pimento cheese sparingly gracing the burger, I should have thought it would have been well done or charred. The asparagus was construction grade and completely flavorless — tough and old. And lest you think the fault is ours in not sending the food back, rest assured we tried. The server was a charming lass who won our admiration for her amazingly rapid “do you need anything?” along with her ability to dash to the inner recesses of the restaurant before the last syllable fell from her well lined and glossed lips. Sadly, the salt requested when our plates were delivered showed up with the check. And, bless her, her mind reading was spot on because she was correct that “you don’t want dessert, do you?” Statesville has an utterly charming downtown. It is vibrant and interesting, but the 220 Cafe is a resounding dud.
