First and foremost, I was hungry and staying at a hotel across the street. I was also not opposed to something with rice and/or entertainment value, or perhaps even fun. Enter: Rice Fun.
I went online and placed my order. General Tso's chicken. For $10 i got a whole tray of food, including a delicious egg roll. Anxiously, I walked from my hotel to the restaurant, not knowing the good things in store for me. As I walked in, they were already plating up my order. I was greeted by the friendly staff and given my food. It was also, somehow fun too, just like the name says. Let's be clear, there was rice and there was fun. Together, they merged to form the Mighty Rice Fun, defender of hunger and boredom.
I tried to play it cool on the way back to my room. I was excited for all the rice and fun, but wanted to act like I had been there before. When I opened the container in my hotel room, the food was hot and smelled fantastic. Little did I know, the fun was just beginning. The food was delicious and I made up a song about Rice Fun that my wife and kid are tired of me singing.
Long story short, if you are hungry for food with rice, and a side of good old fasioned fun, try Rice Fun, and then make up your own song to sing to your friends and family.

Staff are a 10 out of 10 .The Food is catered to people who don't season chicken . Food ain't bad at All but it not The kind of food your used to if your watch your Grandma run up and down the aisle at church filled with the Holy Ghost on Sunday.. There should be an option to Afro America my food I'm sure they will do a good job adding a lil bit more of everything.. Food ain't bad , staff are awesome just never ate such light and careful lightly seasoned food , but considering the health problems that North Carolinas face and everyone else its refreshing to have a healthy light choice for people who want that. Not me Im going to the buffet later lol ..

Always fantastic and tasty! I don't like the shrimp sauce here, not sure why. The ratio feels off and tastes mostly like mayo. But everything else I've had here is just great.

Omg this goes to show why I havent been to this place even living here forever. How can anyone messed up sesame chicken. Peking downtown is my usual go to place but because I was close to rice fun, I decided to give them a try. A big disappointment. Even the fried rice is nasty... I got chicken and rice soup also and half the container was broth😡 This will be my 1st and last time.

The food is always good every time I have ordered from here and is normally quick about getting your order finished up. The space is very small and not much room for seating when it is busy and also have people waiting for their takeout orders.

We come to the Hickory area once a year for a food show and this is our second time visiting the Conover location and it's absolutely delicious!
I was so impressed on the first visit that I called the restaurant to let them know that it is the best Americanized Chinese food I've ever had.
Everything is obviously fresh and perfectly prepared.
At this point, I firmly believe that the only thing in the restaurant that's not scratch made are the fortune cookies.
The staff are very nice and the food is amazing!
Portions are very generous and definitely shareable.
I've been in the foodservice brokerage business for 16 years, and in foodservice in general for 48 years and done dozens of shows in NC and SC and I've eaten at the best restaurants in the region and worked with the top Chefs from the coast to the mountains.
Rice Fun is in a class by themselves in the "Chinese" restaurant segment.
I can't really convey how impressed I am with the food and the people in a facebook post.
I'll just give them 10 freaking stars!

Just ordered some General Tso's Chicken and when I started eating it at home I noticed it didn't taste like General Tso's at all. They used Soy sauce instead of the sauce they normally use for General Tso's. I don't mind a little soy sauce but this is ridiculous. Not coming back for a long time.
