We tried to find general info about Love Valley but everything written was generic. So while visiting in Statesville we drove out to visit this supposed little cowboy town but it was closed. Appeared like it hasn't been fully functional for awhile, maybe the past economy or weather related incidents. No matter it isn't worth the drive. Sadly I've hung on to a travel article about Love Valley for 15 years always wanting to see this little town. But don't waste your time. For a real experience take a trip to Banderas, TX, cowboy capital of the world.

Relaxed atmosphere where even children and dogs are welcome. Horses are hitched up and quarters hold the pool tables for the next round. Music and dancing with a live band, jukebox, or karaoke. Definitely a beer and boots kind of place loved by locals and visitors alike.

My friend came to visit so when we decided we wanted pizza, we popped into Shelby's Place to have a nice, hot Tombstone pizza and a couple of beers. We were there early so there wasn't much going on yet. We're older so we don't do the young crowd any more.Anyway, it was a good decision. Shelby's Place is located in Love Valley, NC.
