Shiki Japanese Restaurant

Well let's just say not all Shiki restaurants are created the same. I guess I should blame myself for trying this location as they were dead at dinner rush. I paid 15 dollars for a steak and chicken combo and it was less than half of the amount you get just 15 min down the road at the Shiki in Mocksville. The quality was also very different which is weird to me . Congratulations you got my 15 bucks but I can promise you will never get another penny and I'll tell every person I see to steer clear of this location.

Fast service and such fresh food! I had the steak hibachi with mixed veggies. Hubs had teriyaki chicken also with mixed veggies. The waitress was the nicest and when we commented how delicious the food was she said the meat is fresh and trimmed daily. We’ll stop back on our way through Statesville.

I asked for extra fortune cookies twice when I got there, the guy lied and told me put them in the bag. Got home and guess what, there was no fortune cookies at all, not even the one that comes with the plate and I got 4 plates. Then for the price of the food it was not worth it. The hibachi chicken plates had some kind of white flat hard pieces stuck to the chicken, looked like egg shell pieces. The sauce was super runny and had no taste. The rice was over cooked. I was craving kotos from Taylorsville but was in Statesville and didn't wanna drive, it was the closest thing to what I wanted. Next time I will definitely be making the drive out of the way, I will not eat at this shikis again.

There is roaches here!!! Me and my family went today and there was one on the seat in the booth.

Pretty sure the same guy who took my order over the phone was the one who rung me up whenever I came in but his attitude was terrible. I’ve never had anyone roll their eyes at me after they asked for my name on the to go order. The food made me feel sick and he seemed like it was an inconvenience to grab my to go order? I definitely won’t be back the shiki beside the planet fitness is much better and faster.

Walked in today. Wasn't greeted till I was on my top three restroom. Was asked why I was there with a bad attitude. Then when it was time to be seated the other guy just shrugged and said he didn't care where I sat. The whole place has a very drab atmosphere. The restroom was also dirty and the place had a bad smell. No wonder the other place does better. Won't be back.
