After reading "lowest comments" ... Been coming to the Brunswick Islands, Holden Beach since 1954, the year Hurricane Hazel ripped this beach apart. Restaurants come and go like the tides. With Shallotte being just 10 miles down the road, good restaurant help is at a premium, mostly what they call summer help, especially kitchen help and waitresses. None of the Brunswick Islands restaurants are Martha's Vineyards by a long shot.Restaurants in the area are in business to make a living, mostly just 8 months out of the year. If folks come here or any other restaurant in the area thinking it's all gonna be to your 100 per cent liking, forget it. If I felt this way, I would cook at home but, who wants to cook everyday at the beach? Nobody is gonna cook like daddy or mama. I'm sure LouLous will do their very best to serve you great seafood, drinks, and sides to your liking. They are looking forward to you giving them a chance to serve you and your family. Leave your sweet comments so they can know what the public is thinking but be nice, after all this is the South y'all" ... P.S. I've survived on dozens of these type restaurants in the Brunswick Islands for almost 70 years, ain't dead yet ... As far as their non-fish selections, I can't comment because I only eat seafood at a seafood restaurant ... If I want a burger I go to Cook-Out, I want chickin', theirs KFC, Bojangles in Shallotte ...Parking: Half a football field ...Kid-friendliness: They have "switches" and paddles at the front desk, just ask ... LOL
We have tried several times to eat here and finally made it.. but it was disappointing. Our waitress was friendly and pleasant. The food was not what we were expecting. My son got flounder and he said it was dry. I got clam strips and they were ok. My chips tasted fishy.my husband got oyster dinner and said the oyster were under cooked. Probably won’t be back. Very disappointing.

Food was HORRIBLE and way overpriced.. Service was terrible, waitress didn't even check on me and my husband at all, while bringing our drinks, the waitress almost poured drink all over my 11 month old son, thankfully I caught the glass in time.. overall my experience at LouLou 's was awful I will not be going back!

Our church ladies retreat came to eat on Saturday November 4th and everything was Amazing. We had 40 women and that’s a lot to serve especially being on a Saturday evening. I ordered the flounder & fried shrimp and it was so good, I’m usually not a coleslaw person but loved it. My friend had the chicken smothered in cheese and bacon she loved it. I couldn’t believe how fast we were served. The staff was so friendly and kept our hush puppies baskets coming nonstop. The restaurant also had cute colorful picnic tables for outside dining. The restaurant was on the water and the sunset was so beautiful!
First visit. My boys wanted to try crab legs and we picked a great place for it!All food was very tasty. Had great views of intercoastal waters. Restaurant was very busy but wait staff was attentive and friendly. Only complaint is I didn't get the drink I ordered, but was not charged so it was completely fine! Will definitely return!
Came here on a Wednesday with 5 adults from my family. Lou Loud came highly recommended so we were excited to go.After we were seated for a while the manager took our order. I ordered crab bites as an appetizer for the table first and then for main dish flounder and shrimp. Our meals came out but not the appetizer. Since that happened I asked the manager to remove that from the bill which she did and apologized. The hush puppies and fries were room temperature and were hardly touched. The shrimp batter was soggy, room temp and un appetizing. I didn’t eat them and they were the worse shrimp I have ever had. Flounder was hot surprisingly and was the only thing I ate. No excuse for hot flounder and room temp shrimp and fries on same plate.My wife got the fish and chips. Sweet potato waffle fries were hot but the cod strips also room temp and soggy batter. She also didn’t eat that either. This was the same thing for two others as well. Only one person out of 5 finished their meal and the others thought is was the worse meal they had ever eaten.We asked the server for our check and she also apologized for the debacle. They weren’t busy!!The best part of the meal was when we left and I would never recommend Lou Lous to anyone. Absolutely disgusting.

Came to Lou Lou’s breakfast this past Friday (Oct 13) and what a pleasant surprise!!!We were greeted by the best server, (Melissa) , I have ever encountered. Our breakfast for all 8 of us was wonderful. Every order was correct and delicious. The portions of food was awesome! Never once did we need to ask for refills or anything because we were treated so great by all the employees.Thank you for such a delightful experience. We were visiting for a week at Holden Beach and by far this was the best place for breakfast we found , service was 10 stars. Thank y’all so much for great food but the amazing staff was above and beyond. We ate out every meal and believe me, this place was the BEST! We will be back.Sincerely,Connie from S.C.

We've been visiting Holden Beach since 2015 and had our first dinning experience at Lou Lou's when it was Betty's Waterfront. Since then, Lou Lou's is better than ever and has become one of our favorite places to eat while on vacation at Holden Beach! And this morning we experienced their breakfast and it was FANTASTIC!! The omlet was cooked to perfection, the pancakes were light and fluffy, the home fries were to die for and the Country Fried Steak.....makes you want to slap your mama!! Among the amazing food and atmosphere, the service at Lou Lou's is top notch! Melissa, our server, greeted us with the sweetest personality and hospitality! She informed us that because the food is cooked to order that it may take longer than usual to receive and that once it's plated, it comes straight from the kitchen, hot and delicious! And with the beautiful views and sometimes live music in the evenings, dinner is an amazing experience as well! I can't say enough about Lou Lou's, it should definitely be on your "Places to Eat" when you visit Supply NC and Holden Beach, NC!

The location is on the water in what appears to be a shipyard. It is on the water with indoor and outdoor seating. Our waitress was nice, but I felt she had too many tables and service was just OK. We waited a long time for our food. My daughter got the salmon and rice with asparagus. Her food was really good but they brought broccoli instead of asparagus. We had to ask for the asparagus and we were told it was still cooking but they didn't tell us that until later when we asked. My husband ordered a steak (rare) but it was at best medium and they never brought his salad. At this point, there was no need to ask for it. We had to ask for our check. I might give it another chance just due to the fact that there aren't many choices in the area.
