This place has absolute best ice cream I've ever had. The owners are so nice and appreciate your business. The courtyard is beautiful with a fountain, flowers and lots of little areas to enjoy your treat. I had the Lockwood Folly mud (the best chocolate), Holden Beach Sand, Banana Pudding and Key Lime Pie. (Listed in order of favorites). The Black Cherry is also wonderful.

The most delicious homemade goodness in the world! They are serving the most wholesome ingredients too! An adorable place to bring your family!

We stopped at Saltwater Shanty tonight. I had the peanut butter pie ice cream that wa delicious and my husband had their homemade strawberry sundae with strawberry ice cream - he absolutely loved it. The strawberries were delicious and it was a huge sundae. We will be back!!

the customer service was awful tonight. don’t know if it was because they were busy but the owner needs to work on her communication with customers. usally they are very nice but tonight there was attitude and it felt like they wanted us to know everything about their ice cream place. the ice cream was great though! but customer service was trash.

Today my family was in the mood for ice cream. When we pulled into Saltwater Shanty and they were closed, I thought I might be dealing with an 8 year old's meltdown, but to our delight and surprise the owners Jeff and Leigh happily opened the shop just for our group! We love their ice cream, especially the chocolate pecan, the sea turtle, and you cannot miss the homemade waffle cone! Not only is it delicious but you can tell it is made with love.

They went above and beyond both in ice cream and hospitality! We can't wait to go back!

The best homemade, fresh ice cream at Holden Beach! Came down from Rochester, NY for this. Jeff and Leigh are so gracious and welcoming, you do not want to miss this place- a must for any visit to Holden Beach!

We got the raspberry/chocolate and birthday cake ice cream, they were so good! Owner was super friendly and said the raspberries were nc grown and ice cream made with local dairy. Definitely recommend!

Best ice cream I’ve had in a long time. Cary had some homemade places but this is up “there” in taste, flavor, quality ice cream

This is the best ice cream I’ve ever had, without question. My husband and I actually stopped here a few months ago, but we’re visiting Holden again tomorrow and I just came to check if Saltwater Shanty would be open so that I could get some of that Holden Beach Sand again! 😂🤤
