Great place to be, my favorite spot to go in Holden Beach. Excellent food, drinks, atmosphere and such terrific service, I couldn’t imagine a better place to enjoy an evening out. GIVE THE COVE A TRY!!!

Last night was a terrible experience for us at the Cove. We were regular customers when Maryann was the owner. We looked forward to trying it now. Never again!
There was an almost empty dining room much unlike it was before. We wondered what was wrong. Now we know!
The menu changed, which may be expected, but many of the steaks had “market price”,,,,which were much higher than before and higher than much nicer restaurants. I asked about my favorite meals,,eggplant,,,not on the menu but the waitress told me they may have a leftover piece in back,,,leftover from when?
We started with Caesar salad,,,the crotons were stale and soggy. We advised the waitress who said,,,I know, they are always like that.
The meals were okay,,,not like before the new owner.
We asked it the cheesecake was the same but was told the only dessert they had was 1 brownie. Should we split it between 4 people?
As we were leaving, we stopped to catch the football score. I asked about waitress where everyone was! She said it’s like that a lot. She had a group leave when they found out what the new steak prices are!
Isn’t this sad!
Again,,,,they saw the last of us!

The food is expensive and that would be fine if it were worth the money. It was obviously frozen and sad. The chef added a lot of cumin to pico de gallo salsa which ruined the flavor of the dish. The crab cakes are not fresh. The best thing about our meal were the french fries, which were again, from frozen but at least they heated them up right.

Stopped in on a whim when another placed closed early. Very happy we did!! Service was really good! Food was tasty. It was a little loud but there was a lot of people (not surprisingly). Will definitely go back. Great staff. Great food!!

We always try to eat at the bar…Nick and Scott are amazing bartenders and provide outstanding service. Lots of good app specials and menu choices that are reasonably priced😎

Good food, excellent service. Prices are a little high but reasonable. My seafood special was very good. My wife's pasta was tasty. Excellent focaccia. Active bar.
Food was excellent, very fresh selection of seafood. Always enjoy their locally sourced shrimp, regardless of the dish it is featured in. The location is a bit cramped since it is right next to another shop, so parking can sometimes be a bit tight but is generally pretty solid. Overall, The Cove is an excellent representation of Holden Beach seafood cuisine for a good price.

The Cove used to be our favorite place to eat but not anymore. We’ve been here two times this week, all of our food was cold the first night and tonight it was not only cold but not edible. We won’t be back.

Went 2 times during my visit to Holden and I would recommend it to anyone looking for vegetarian options here at the beach. The black bean burger is excellent and reasonably priced. Plenty of options, all look well made with some thought and love behind the dishes. I will definitely go back!
