Yummy crabcakes, scallops too. Server friendly and drinks were a good pour.
We rent a beach house on Topsail every year and one of our favorite restaurants has been low tide. The food is usually great, we love the salad bar and they have prisoner on the wine list. We are a party of 10 so we called for reservations. They told us they don't take reservations. We asked, we are a party of 10 and we don't want an 1.5 wait what can we do to avoid that? They said come between 5-5:30, it's slow and they will be able to seat us. We said ok and got there at 5:15,...read full review
Awful experience. Waited over an hour to be sat at a table when told 35-45. Once seated at the BAR not our table, at that, we waited for food for close to another hour. My dinner and my partners both were cold. Drinks stayed empty, the servers almost had to playing a game of how to ignore us. The “steamed” broccoli was wasn’t even cooked or washed. Low Tide Steakhouse & Sandbar is a beloved spot known for its relaxed, coastal vibe and friendly atmosphere. It is a family-owned restaurant that creates a welcoming environment for both families and individuals. The restaurant offers a dependable selection of good food, with steaks, seafood, and burgers that are cooked properly and taste fresh. Notable dishes include a delicious filet, swordfish, and a burger that has been praised as the best ever tasted. The fries are thin, crispy, and highly recommended, while the salad bar is consistently clean, well-stocked, and enjoyable, though there was a recent occasion when it was not tended to as well as usual.
The atmosphere is pleasant, making it a great place to enjoy a meal, and the bourbon selection adds to the experience. Despite the generally positive food quality, most dishes do not stand out as particularly unique or memorable, and the menu tends to play it safe. Service can be inconsistent—attentive and friendly during less busy times, but slower during busy periods, with wait times for drinks and food occasionally longer than expected. Pricing is on the higher end, typical for a beach-area steakhouse, but the value sometimes feels off, especially when service is slower. Overall, Low Tide Steakhouse & Sandbar is a reliable and enjoyable restaurant with a great atmosphere, but improving consistency and value could elevate the experience further.
