Cool Country rustic atmosphere like general store. Pork snack excellent. Potato salad is really good like a deli with a hint of dill. Really good food and surprisingly inexpensive for the area. Good parking lots of room inside. Very friendly servers. Tea is good moderately sweet not sugar overload tastes fresh. Good portions of food. Good grade 97.5 at this time. Food hot very quick friendly service.Parking: Shopping center parking on two sides plenty of space during rush hour traffic.

They brought me out a basket with FOUR hushpuppies in it. When I asked for more the waitress said, "We're not supposed to do that."REALLY??????????

The food was delicious. We had the porkchops , corn , slaw dinner. My waitress was good . I had no spoon to stir my coffee and had to wait on my husband okra. She had my husband tea filled all the time . This place is very good to come and enjoy a peaceful time and good meals. .Parking: You have to find a place to park. There is front store parking for the other stores and their is parking away from the building .

One of our favorite stops when we are in Surf City/Topsail! We make it a point to take our kids every couple months so they can pick out a homemade jam and a bath bomb in their gift shop!Staff is always friendly, food is great, and prices are very reasonable!

As a couple passing through we weren’t sure where’s the best eateries were, and rely heavily on Google reviews. These reviews were not wrong and we were not disappointed! Upon walking in we were warming greeted and seated. Our waitress, Pam, was incredibly sweet and explained a few items to us we were unfamiliar with. While waiting for our food we were given complimentary hush puppies, never had them before, they were warm, sweet and delicious. The shrimp sandwich and slaw were very good, they absolutely did not skimp on the shrimp. Also ordered was the meatloaf (just like grandmas) with Brunswick stew (also a first) which was a mix of sweet and spicy, but delicious. For the portions and price it was very reasonable, the food was quite good and the presentation cute. I’m not a huge fan of my food touching so everything coming out on a plate that nicely separated it was perfect, especially with the shrimp and slaw. Would absolute go back to try a few more items.

I know many people enjoy this restaurant. Not meaning to over criticize but the restaurant or front of the house needs to be cleaned. The purple booths in the back are grimy the ceiling fans dirty. I ordered a plate of three vegetables and it was just alright with not much flavor. No baby-back ribs, no brisket on the menu. Chicken my boyfriend had was overcooked. Our server ignored us as my boyfriend sat with nothing to drink while other servers walked past us with a pitcher of tea not offering to refill his glass. Teamwork is key to a successful restaurant. I guess since Covid we have learned to accept these realities and that's too bad. Another issue is they're closed a lot of days. I think they have lost their touch, would like to see more of effort when it comes to food quality, the atmosphere, and food service even if that means higher prices.

Come for the BBQ stay for the fried chicken. Yummy!. Fast and good pick up dinner. Very little breading, it's almost keto!

Hubby had ribs and I had ribeye, both were cooked perfectly. Lona was great at taking care making sure we got anything we needed! Definitely will be back for more! I would add photos but it didn't last long enough to get then as we dug right in!..next time I will do better !

This review is somewhat mixed and somewhat not really impassioned. The atmosphere is a strange country store-like decor. Though it seems old, dusty and really more overplayed..... Time to move on. When I eat at Texas Roadhouse I don't feel like its old and dusty but I did here. Our server was great.... though not very thorough in letting you know what's coming and how your meal is prepared. Almost either short on vocabulary or expecting repeat customers that already know. Either was she was nice. The hushpuppies served were delicious. Those came as soon as we ordered our meal. I ordered the pork chop and had no idea what to expect. I was ordering it in a BBQ restaurant. I asked how it came and she stared at me. I asked how it was cooked and she said "seared". I ordered it anyway and it was absolutely delicious, tender and juicy. My pork chop came with a little cold dinner roll from Pepperidge Farm and I ordered the coleslaw and potato salad. No barbecue sauce came with my plate and the pork chop wasn't really barbequed.... Just grilled. My wife ordered the pulled pork and fries. There were three tablespoons of dry pulled pork with no sauce on her plate and everyday frozen-type fries.... There was one kind of BBQ sauce on the table and it was the thin vinegar kind.... Not necessarily what you get when you go to Mission BBQ who serves at least 6 different flavors for every taste. In my opinion, this place really needs updating and a new creative chef. Maybe new owners. There is lots of room for improvement. Fresh cut fries. Lots of variety in BBQ sauce. Updated menu offerings. And lastly.... serve some real BBQ. Would we go back? ehhhhhh maybe... but it certainly wont make the weekly or monthly rotation.
