On a sunny Sunday afternoon in November, my wife and I were visiting the Swansboro area to visit with family. We decided on heading into Swansboro for lunch ... and thank goodness we stumbled upon a somewhat hidden gem ...Boro's Low Country Kitchen. We used a side entrance that led to a rear outdoor seating area next to the water. I found out that a front entrance led to both a vibrant indoor restaurant and additional tables outside that had canopies for shade. The menu lits appetizers. I recommend the Crab-Cheese Fries. Wow! There was a great selection of kid's meals, sanwiches, fried seafood baskets and low country boils that they are famous for. However, I love flounder and ordered the Grandwich that featured an oversized filet of flounder. The service was prompt and courteous. Our views out the water and fishing boats added to our experience. I heartily recommend Boro's for great seafood while in Swansboro.

Parking: No trouble finding available parking in lot adjacent to the resturant.

Kid-friendliness: Good location in the rear seating area next to the water for children.

Wheelchair accessibility: There is a ramp on the street that allows for wheelchairs to access all locations ... front and rear of the restaurant.

We had got the seafood boil and everything was seasoned very well and the potatoes was great! The only reason I gave it a 3 on the food was because they didn't clean the shrimp? but other than that it was delicious ?

Make a reservation. Just FYI. Looked fantastic, however no where did it say to make a reservation so we didn’t and we were unable to actually eat there. But great vibe with live music.

Me and 3 others were planning on eating here but unfortunately we were not serviced. The open sign was out and we rung the bell to get the hostess’ attention multiple times and no one came. We also called and knocked on the door, there was someone in the back that we could clearly see and they never acknowledged us.

For what a dock side restaurant, the venue wasn’t spectacular, but okay, the view is nice, however for food; the shrimp was over cooked and the baskets included a total of two hush puppies.

We really enjoy this little hidden gem. They have seafood boils, sandwiches, appetizers…at reasonable prices. Behind the main Boro restaurant, kind of hidden. Sit outside and enjoy the view of the water while you eat. Make sure you get the crab cheese fries appetizer.
