Love the Icehouse. There with friends from TN and as usual it never fails to get first class service, great food. Sure wish I coulda got some Shepards Pie. The dish looked great. Gracie was charming and a delightful waitress! Give her a nice raise, she made our visit.

Place is actually closed. Boro restaurant and bar serves some of the old ice house favorites. The place is going to be rebuilt in a couple of years.

Lunch today over the water. We were severed some of the freshest, perfectly fried seafood we’ve ever had. The quantity was impressive for the money. Tables including accessories thoroughly wiped down between customers. We will definitely return.

Excellent fish sandwiches. I usually get the granwich fish sandwich but they restaurant got destroyed by the hurricane Irene. So all that’s open is carry out so I got the Flounder Sandwich and it was amazing.

This restaurant is not open. It was destroyed by hurricane Florence. We were told it will rebuild but will take a few years. Someone should update this site. Prior to it closing this was our favorite place in Swansboro. Food was fresh and delicious.

Second time here! We ate by the water with a nice breeze! We split a fried shrimp dinner and the fried shrimp were some of the best we've had. Would definitely recommend!

Food was ok. I had lemon fish - kind of overpowered by the lemon. My friend's fish fries were much better. The service was also just ok. We sat outside and the waitress wasn't out there that much. Staff was very friendly. The view was relaxing/calming

While on vacation we discovered Icehouse and have shared what a good eatery it was each year with our guests. I say was because upon entering the atmosphere was stiffling. No greeting except how many were in our party. The waitress wasn't thrilled to have a party of 7. Placing our order took an extended amount of time(all of our beverages were empty when she returned to take our order);side items were cold;red beans and rice were sweet. Rounding out the night was the 20% tip added to our bill(related to party size). If the service matched the tip,no problem as the professions at the table included an engineer, plumber,HVAC tech, referee and a nutritionist. Service just didn't meet basic expectations. On a side note, each year we have met the cook preparing our food which has been the same gentleman twice who was very personable(this year when inquired, response from service staff was an exasperated "I don't know"). Additionally the waitress didn't smile during our visit which isn't required but much more hospitable. Wish the experience could have been great(as prior visits) but it just wasn't. Our party surmised maybe new management was a factor(?). In any case, we will search out a new unique eatery for our next visit.

Restaurant is gone, but they're cooking at a few tables on the dock. Fish Poboy was excellent as well as the fried shrimp!! Restaurant is supposed to be back in 2020
