We had a nice time here, my daughter and I were unsure about what beer we wanted to try. Our wonderful waitress, Shawnee, (sorry if I'm spelling her name wrong)asked if she could suggest a beer she thought we may like, after asking what type of beer we enjoyed. Neither of us like IPA's. of course, we said, yes and It was a perfect choice. My daughter and I really loved it. It was called, Buttah beeah, a peanut butter white milk stout and it was one of the best beers we've ever drank. So delish! Honestly, we even brought one home with us Shawnee was a great, attentive and helpful waitress, very polite and friendly. She is definitely a wonderful asset to Balsam brewery. When we visit again we look forward to visiting Balsam brewery again.

We went during the day around lunchtime and it wasn’t very busy at all, which made it feel calm and relaxed. You order at the counter, pick up your beer there, and they bring the food out to your table. There’s a good variety of drink options, so it’s easy to find something you like whether you prefer lighter beers or hoppier ones. The space itself is on the smaller side and mostly indoors, but it has a nice local feel. I could see it turning into more of a lively, party-type atmosphere at night, but during the day it was a chill spot to grab a beer and food while walking around downtown Sylva.

Dropped in an hour before closing and was welcomed warmly and invited to order from the kitchen. Great variety of beers and more. The kitchen was on point with apps and a warm sandwich. Service was friendly and personable. I will definitely be back soon!

Stopped in the evening after a full day of hiking in the great Smokey mountains and man it hit the spot like no other place probably would have! Food was spectacular, staff were all very nice, and the drinks paired perfectly with dinner. I didn’t even get a picture of my boyfriends chicken sandwich he ate it so fast😂

Have always enjoyed my visits here. Decent food , decent to good beer and a nice location. The vibe here is always good and the atmosphere is great. Plenty of seating options available. Service has always been excellent. Recommend a stop if you are in town.

Turned away on a Tuesday night at 6:25 due to “trivia”. Restaurant was basically empty and we were only a party of two. Trivia was not posted on the website so we had no idea we wouldn’t be able to dine in. Was looking forward to trying some of their menu items and beers. We’ll be back to Sylva but I’d be pressed to try Balsam Falls again. Plenty of other options that are much more welcoming.

We stopped in for a quick beer on our way through town. The place is welcoming with engaging staff. The two different beers we ordered were both tasty. Really good beer and the spinach artichoke dip hit the spot. This brewery is a great compliment to Sylvia’s Main Street. Definitely stop in for a beer and a bite.

We visited about 5 years ago and loved the atmosphere, but weren’t super impressed with the beer. We tried them out again last weekend and the beer has obviously improved.

Went in with my fiance and loved the atmosphere. This brewery leans into the different holiday seasons, and went full out with halloween/autumn vibes.
They have a great menu, with a nice variety of alcoholic beverages, but also not overwhelming when it came time to choose. The Harvest was our favorite cocktail to drink.
The food also came out pretty quickly and fast. Also appreciated the note on the menu about the wings taking longer.
10/10 will be going again.

Oh my goodness, they have the best Stout beer, just or better than draft Guinness as well as fantastic grilled wings! The best we've ever had we will totally be back!!

First time eating here today is definitely the last! I ordered a Philly and fries. The fries were good but the sandwich was NOT. After taking a bite I saw mold on the roll. So that overshadowed the fact that the actual Philly steak had no flavor at all. My plate also had a very large chip missing out of it so that was a bit dangerous. I really just don’t understand why companies don’t care anymore and just give the customers “whatever”. Domino’s sells a much better Philly and it’s half the price. Maybe the mold costs extra?🤔
