“We had two signature items from the menu that we have had many times. Not up to par this time (9-21-22). French onion soup was like warm. Mediterranean appetizer over browned. Italian pasta salad needed more oil and grated cheese. The added tofu was practically burnt and flavorless.”

“Great place. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Food is delicious. I got the pastrami on rye with grilled onions. It was fantastic. I could only eat half. Warmed up the other half for dinner that night and it filled me up. If you are in Sylvania you should really give it a try. You won't be disappointed.”

“My wife and I were in town as part of our 50th anniversary vacation and had dinner on Sunday 9/24/23. I had the 10 oz sirloin with loaded baked potato and green beans. My wife had the spinach with the raspberry vinaigrette dressing. The food was awesome and the service was great! We highly recommend Boots if you’re passing through southwestern NC.”

“The Jarrett House hotel and interior looks great. They did a wonderful job on restoration; however, the restaurant food was horrible. We went for dinner and the food was bland and tasteless. The chicken was the best part of it but it ends there. From the biscuits, sides and desert were not appetizing at all and the ham had so much fat on it I was able to eat maybe a third of it. We never asked for any seconds due to it being so unappetizing. I was hoping for the Country ham they were so noted for in years past. Been local for 26 years and it will take a completely new menu with great tasting food and much more positive reviews before I will ever step back in it for dinner.”

I got the fried oysters and shrimp. the oysters were sweet and not over cooked like most seafood resturants! next time we go im going to try the raw oysters and have more fried oysters. “We recently hosted our send-off brunch at Sylva Social, and we couldn’t have picked a better location to wrap up our wedding weekend. Most of our guests stayed in Sylva, so having a beautiful downtown location that was easy for everyone to get to the morning after our wedding was perfect.

The team was professional and made the entire process seamless. Sylva Social is such a beautiful space, and we loved having the flexibility to make it our own. We were able to bring in our own decor while also incorporating some of their in-house pieces, which made the space feel personal and perfectly suited to our brunch.

And the food was amazing! The coffee from Blue Ridge Bootleg was incredible, and our guests absolutely raved about the breakfast sandwiches. Even our vegan guests said it was some of the best-seasoned tofu they’ve ever had. The chef even went the extra mile and carved our initials with a heart into a watermelon that served as the fruit bowl. Such a thoughtful and special touch!

We couldn’t have been happier with how everything turned out. Sylva Social was the perfect place to gather with our family and friends one last time and wrap up an unforgettable wedding weekend. We are so grateful to the entire team for helping make it so special!”

“I had the spring rolls and Pho Combo (beef and meatballs). Honestly, the spring rolls were rubbery, and perhaps it's just that I am not accustomed to that texture. I didn't like it. The Pho was tasty, but the meatballs were ALSO rubbery. I am not usually a "texture" person, but I really didn't like the texture of the meatballs.”

“Beautiful store and a wonderful mission. The staff are amazing and so incredibly helpful. I still have a few years before my daughter goes to the prom but that didn’t stop them from letting her try on multiple dresses and encouraging her. We will definitely be back!”

“Second time ordering a slice of cheese pizza. The first time about a month ago during their “soft opening”, that slice was excellent. This evening, not so good. Skimpy on the cheese, too much tomato sauce on the upper half, very little cheese on the upper half, not very tasty or appealing ☹️”

“Let me tell you. We tried this place for the first time. After we had a table, it took a few mins for them to take our drink order. The Horchata, Jamaica and Mango water were on point. Just like the ones we make at home. The food was delicious. Everyone was happy with the taste of their food. My children are definitely picky and this restaurant definitely delivered. They have a salsa bar. You get whatever salsa you desire. We had 5 meals and 5 drinks for +$100. Bathrooms were clean. Definitely will be back. I just hope we have the same great experience when we return.”

“I don't recommend going to sylva waffle house around midnight. I had just left my brother's house and was traveling home when I saw a homeless guy walking. I stopped and gave them a ride so the guy could warm up. I let him out near the waffle house and continued home, when I realized the guy left his tobogen. I returned to the area where I last saw him and heard that he was close to waffle house, so I go in there. there's the cook, which acted kind and professional, a customer & the waitress. the waitress was very nice to me until she learned that I was looking for this homeless guy to give him his hat back. she began to frown and changed her whole demeaner. I am male and have long hair and had been wearing a hat earlier. I didn't realize it at the moment but my hair was messed up some. the waitress just got a blank stare on her face and for the most part was being rude and then reminded me that the guy wasn't there.kind of prompting me to leave . the cook spoke up and said, "I think he wants to order."had she not been avoiding me she would've seen that I had a menu in my hand, reading it. I decided not to order and just go home and eat. when I went outside,to get in my car either the cook or the rude waitress pushed her car lock remote causing the horn to sound as if to make sure I didn't steal something. it's funny how people judge others negatively because you look different or you tried to help someone out. if I had the power, I would fire that waitress on the spot. very disturbing. sad part about it is that my coat was worth more than she made in a week. yet she treats me like I'm some kind of vagabond. not only did that happen Saturday 14, Jan. she wouldn't even answer the phone. there was one customer in the store when I tried to contact them by phone if you can't be nice and considerate while doing a job like that, you have no business working there”

“I am a biscuit maker at the Hardee's in sylva, we work very hard to make your experience the best we can , yeah you might have to wait a minute or two to get what you want but it's well worth the wait.”
