First of all, the prices ARE on the menu, and we found them to be reasonable, especially in light of the portion size and quality. Thin, light tortillas, and actual Spanish rice were highlights. Unique menu options, too, like veggie chimichangas, which I've not seen on a Mexican restaurant menu. We got the last parking space, but still only waited 8 minutes for a table. There was also a live authentic mariachi band!! Nice touch. We'll be back.

Wife and I are new to Sylva. Decided to visit El Patron. We are vegetarian and ordered the veggie fajitas. Very good, large portions. Great service. This place was packed and I see why. We will return.

Had lunch with family and friends for the first time visit. The seating and service was prompt and everyone enjoyed their meal. We hope to return in the near future.

What a great authentic Mexican restaurant. The place is huge and so it is super exciting the service was so good & the food wonderful. Kudos to the entire team. A broad menu & reasonable prices complete an amazing experience.

Worst service I’ve had in a long time. Was the second table seated at the open of the restaurant. Took 25 minutes to receive drinks and chips. Had to ask for silverware twice. Waited another 40 minutes and still hadn’t received our food order. Upon asking for our check and the food order to be cancelled, waiter attempted to charge us for entire food order anyway. When I asked to speak to a manager, I was told there wasn’t one working today. Will most likely not return.

Hands down the worst service of any restaurant I have ever been in. We were the second table sat at opening. No drinks, chips, salsa or silverware until 25 minutes of sitting there. Waiter was short and not attentive. Finally asked for our check after a hour of waiting on our food. He brought the check with the food that we never received on it. When we mentioned it, he stormed off and started talking to his coworkers about us. Never again will be be back to this restaurant or recommend it.

First of all, no menu prices. Should have been a clue. Texas Fajitas for two $33.95. ! -32 oz XX Amber $7.25. 1 Med Texas Marga $13.00. Tax $2.82 Liq Tax $1.44, Charge you whatever they want Total $56.46. All meat dried out some savable shrimp. Had to feed the almost full plater to my dogs (Meat only). What a waste of money. Never going there again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In town for one night, hungry & tired. Got there right at 6 on a Saturday. First off, the place was packed already with no wait just yet, so this is just my own personal experience. All the Mexican restaurants in the area had about the same ratings, so I couldn't decide so we asked our hotel clerk for a recommendation. I noticed our server was very busy so that should've been a sign. We didn't care for the chili powder seasoned salsa and the chips were thicker and crunchier than we are used to, our fajita extra items kept getting mixed up, by the time we got them the fajitas weren't as hot. Again, the server had too many tables but did the best she could. The frozen Margarita was too strong. Too much mix and too much tequila. Don't know how it's possible but couldn't enjoy it and wasn't taken off the bill, so we somehow split fajitas, had queso, extra pico/guac/sour cream setup, 2 sweet teas and one medium rita, and was $40, still tipped the girl well because she was really trying, but I think we will try a different Mexican restaurant if we are in the area again.

This by far, was our favorite restaurant that we ate at, in the 5 days that were in the area......Carnitas was EXCELLENT and the Quesdillas (chicken) was good, too with large helpings of both -- Service was great, too, and decor of restaurant very "Mexican" -- made you feel like you were in Mexico! Love it!!

We were on our way from Ashville to Cashiers and found this place on Trip Advisor. We stopped in and even the smell was amazing! The salsa is one of the best I have ever had. It is made daily and is so fresh. The service was great, prices were very readable and the food was absolutely delicious.
