I so hope someone buys this beautiful place and continues the tradition of the Jarrett House. it was a wonderful place for so long and you can't beat the town for a nice stroll with fabulous shops and cafes.
Delicious food, great friendly service. Loved all the quaint shops in town too!
Good food
I always go out of my way when traveling on I40 in Western N.C. to visit Dillsboro and the Historic Jarrett House. Elegant service, great staff and wonderful food.
We stopped in for dinner. It is family style, all you can eat, comfort food. Fried chicken, creamed corn, the works. The staff was shorthanded but we were still served in a timely manner. The food is good but not great; overall a nice experience in a small town
Food was good but the service was horrible! We were 13 people and they gave us enough food for 5 had to wait 45 min for more. Not the greatest Thanksgiving!
Excellent food. Real mashed potatoes, good chicken, homemade small biscuits, everything good..
Called to see if they were open and to ask whether we needed reservations and the woman said they were open until 8:00 pm. We arrived the door was unlocked but not a soul in sight! Cash Registers unattended, kitchen had a light on but all dining rooms we're dark and deserted. I shouted “Hello” several times and walked the entire bottom floor through all the dining area trying to find anyone to help us. The Jarrett House literally looks in shambles. Needs lots of holes in the main entrance walls repaired, bathroom facilities not working properly and broken hand dryer. Quite scary having not a soul inside, especially when we were told on the phone to come on and eat, we’re open til 8 PM. Kind of felt like I was in the Twilight Zone
Awesome food !!! Great customer service !!!
Family style restaurant. There wasn't any sort of menu or options for the food but when it came out there was a lot of it. The fired chicken was very crispy and tasted great, the chicken and dumplings were very good, my father in law really like the meatloaf. The Mac and cheese and potatoes unfortunately were cold.

We really enjoyed our lunch served family style. We had so much good food and dessert! The service was excellent. I would love to live nearby!
Best chicken n dumplings since Grandma's 40 years ago. Will definitely return with friends and family. Only half hour from Cherokee, NC.
Ever been to a place where you feel like you're going to get drugged and wake up chained in the basement? No? Visit Jarrett House and I promise you'll feel exactly how I did. The atmosphere and ambiance was old and creepy. No music was played and the restaurant was completely silent with black and white pictures of people coating the walls. If that doesn't make you cringe, then the food surely will. Instant mash potatoes and cafeteria style meat loaf for the LOW price of $17.95 should brighten your experience. The bathrooms were dirty: paint peeling and rusty faucets. Frankly the staff doesn't care either. And to top it all off, the service was god-awful. Avoid like the plague unless you like getting ripped off.
Interesting place to stay. Food was good and plenty of it. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Location was not too far from Western Carolina University.
I believe that the Jarrett House is under new management. They have done some renovations and it looks good. They have gone back to bringing bowls of whatever they are serving that meal and refilling when needed. The day we were there, they had fried chicken, chicken and dumplings, beans, stewed apples, potatoes, creamed corn, fried okra, onion casserole, and biscuits. The vidalia onion casserole and the apple dessert were the stars of the meal. The fried okra was pretty good. The rest of the offerings was just ok. Nothing was as hot as you would expect. The fried chicken wasn't crispy at all. Over all, not the experience that we have come to expect here.
