Do not come here if you're expecting to eat within an hour of your arrival. This place used to be great years ago. The staff leaves the phone off the hook, so no point in trying to call in a order.

WiFi? You're kidding. Latte? Not. Happening. This is as country as you're going to get!
North of the line that brings you into Person County from Durham County, this breeze block building has probably been here since the 1930s. They only signs of modernity are the upgraded lights at the tables and a credit card machine that does tap-to-pay.
Breakfast is all the usual classics. Eggs (fried or scrambled), ham, bacon, sausage, French toast, pancakes, grits, hash browns, biscuits.
It's not speedy and it's not fancy but it is delicious "country" cooking. This is the opposite of healthy. My hash brown was crunchy and oily. The ham was salty but great texture and delicious.
I'm pretty sure I've just reduced my life expectancy by a week.
Vegetarian options: I do not believe they have anything even remotely healthy here.
Dietary restrictions: Ask about allergens.
Parking: There is room for cars. A tractor-trailer was stopped in the center median out front.
Kid-friendliness: Step free access.

It is definitely homemade. It’s not your mom made gravy but I liked my food. It was egg soaked bread and cooked it’s definitely not anything fancy. Just good cooked food at a decent price. Sausage was great had a little kick. Will be back

When I arrived I asked about a chicken fried steak with gravy, just asking if they had something like that, and was looked at like I was crazy. My sides were fries and hush puppies. Was told they were out of chuckwagon so I ordered hamburger steak. It arrived plain when I asked for something with gravy. An order of 5 hush puppies came halfway through the meal and mine arrived when I had completed my meal. I have never felt so unwelcome in a southern diner in my life. The food was food but I didn't deserve the attitude or the odd timing of a simple meal.

We’ve been twice and waited almost an hour the first time. The first time we ordered a fish sandwich, hot dog, a fry, an onion ring, a tea and soda. During this time, one of the staff had time to go out for multiple smoke breaks. The tea had soured. It was sitting on the counter in a dirty gallon milk jug. The food was good, despite the delays due to every 10 minute smoke breaks, so we decided to try it again.
On today’s visit, we ordered a fish sandwich, a cheeseburger and an onion ring. We decided against drinks this time bc I didn’t want a repeat of sour tea.
When I paid, I was asked if I wanted to add a tip to my order. I declined, bc 1) they asked me for a tip 2) they hadn’t even done anything besides take my order at that point, and 3) I was going to give their service/expediency a chance before giving them a cash tip.
A few minutes later a guy came in and ordered, and was asked about a tip. He said sure and when he was asked how much, she said thank you very much for his $5 tip. Then she looked at us and started talking loudly about some people not tipping. That guy had his food less than 5 minutes later and was out the door.
It once again took well over 30 minutes (probably closer to 45 mins) to be served our to go order. Again, the same staff member had multiple smoke breaks.
The food is good, but the service is horrible, it takes way too long, the server reeks of cigarette smoke, and the place is filthy looking. So, no, I did not end up giving a cash tip.
And heads up for anyone paying attention to the menu on google. It’s 3 years out of date, so the prices are considerably more, but still decent compared to other places. Just if you think you’re gonna spend about $7 based on these menus, plan on $14.
If they cleaned it up, and maybe hired some better and quicker staff, it may be worth a third shot.

The fish filet sandwich was quite delicious. Onion rings were crunchy. Just moved to the area and had been wanting to try this restaurant. Not disappointed and will be back often.

A couple buddy's and I stopped in for a quick dinner before heading home. I am on a strict diet and they were more than happy to make me an off hour menu meal to eat. I can't express how much this means to people that have meal restrictions. Will definitely stop in when I'm back it rown.
Dietary restrictions: I am on Dr managed Keto diet so meals can be a pain when dining out.
