I liked the easy going atmosphere here, but I’d say the food is average at best. I wasn’t impressed by the options on the menu, as it all felt a little repetitive and there was a couple strange things that I’ve never seen anywhere else (liver mush?). I got a scrambled egg with grits and a biscuit, and it was fine. I don’t know if I’d come back, however it is convenient because there’s not much else in the area.
Great foods. Great service. Nice friendly family atmosphere. They have been in business for decades. Scotty’s is the cleanest restaurant in town. Furthermore the hostesses and waitresses are always clean, neat and dressed nicely. The other places in town could learn a lot from them.
My husband and I have been eating at Scotty's for many years now. We have never been disappointed. The staff has always been courteous and friendly. Our meal portions are more than enough. No alcoholic beverages are sold, and as Christians, we certainly appreciate that. We go from Statesville to Taylorsville at least once a week for that good home cooking.
