Like others, I don’t understand the misleading name. Nothing is home grown or farm to table from what we saw or ordered.

Great little spot with awsome food, nice friendly staff, and a cool glass garage door wall/patio dining are. Just a few things are a bit pricey like the mixed drinks.

So the meal was great but the Flys were everywhere one of the employees said that they put fly stuff out every night but that's probably not true and their was this employee that just eyeballed me for like the whole time

Best food, service, and surroundings I’ve found since moving to NC!
Freshest burger I’ve ever had! I swear it was out in less than 10 minutes. Not to mention every one in there had to be the friendliest people I’ve ever met! Definitely makes you feel at home here. 10/10 recommend to anyone coming thru!
Another shoutout to the owner Darell greeting every single person and checking in on them! That was so nice to see.

The name of the place is Homegrown, but we missed observing why the name was chosen. Perhaps the burgers are the draw. The staff is friendly, and the tables are plentiful. On the day of our visit, many menu options were not available. My companion ordered a chicken salad sandwich, and she found it to be very ordinary in flavor and skimpy in portion. I ordered the chicken sandwich and a side salad. The chicken was overcooked and barely chewable. The salt used to prepare the chicken was excessive. The side salad was prepared on a rectangular plate and its contents were predominantly croutons. We were disappointed in our lunch, but we noticed that all those around us who ordered burgers were enjoying their meals. One man commented, “ Great sandwich!” So, we missed the best option in our first visit to this eatery.

Slowly going downhill as a local favorite.
Disappointing that the food quality has become lower throughout our last few visits.
The pimento burger onion roll was replaced with the brioche bun that is not nearly as good.
The onion rings that we ordered were filled with oil to the point that you could squeeze them and oil would saturate the plate.
For bring “Homegrown” we would have expected hand breaded chicken fingers and chicken sandwiches, both appeared to be from frozen.
The chicken wings are a goto for sure, if they are available.
The seats have springs that appear to be broken, and the A/C is having difficulty keeping up.
Lastly, they have below an 90 sanitation rating which brings concerns with food quality.

Great flair on the traditional food. More like a Mom and Pop style and setting. Outside seating available. Motorcycle parking.

This was not our first time at this restaurant, but it will be our last. Food is normally like an old diner. The servers are usually sweet and friendly; however, today the service was so slow and it was like a high school party behind the counter and in the kitchen. The staff in the kitchen were belting out a Billy Joel song, as we watched our onion rings sit on the counter getting cold. After 25minutes, I asked the waitress what was going on and to please bring "to go" boxes and the check with our food because we were in a rush. She hollered to the kitchen about "how long for my salad"? She returned with a big bowl full of lettuce and a huge pile of grilled, cold, shredded chicken. This cobb salad had 4 croutons and a few sprinkles of cheese. No eggs, cucumbers, onions, tomato? I went right up to the counter and asked where the toppings were and the young, belligerent cooks said "We're outta cheese and tomato... that's all we got". Another said, "Well, don't pay for it. It's too hot to be workin' back here anyway". I paid and we left without eating after 45 minutes. It was obvious that there were no managers or "adults" present during this fiasco. Would not recommend.
My wife and I stopped in while visiting the area. We were mid-afternoon on Memorial Day. The restaurant was almost empty due to the time of day. Our overall impression was outstanding! The facility was clean, the staff was extremely friendly, and the food was quick and absolutely delicious! We had a Cobb Salad, the Scott Bender cheeseburger, onion rings (homemade), and the Loaded Pimento Cheese Fries. Oh my - it was more than we could eat and had to take some leftovers home. We will definitely return to Vass to enjoy another fine meal at Homegrown!

Why are the floors so sticky? So sticky it made us feel a little unsure about cleanliness but food was great and so was service
