We called about 3 weeks before Thanksgiving to see if they would be open on Thanksgiving , we were told yes but no reservations. So on Thanksgiving we show up with my 93 year old Dad and 87 year old Mom to an empty parking lot and dark restaurant!!! So here we are on Thanksgiving driving around to find a place to have dinner! We found the Fantastic Pickled Onion open with the most amazing waitresses! We had a great meal there and a good time! As for Asuka, I called them to let the manager know what happened and all he said was sorry. We gave him the date and exact time I called so he could further investigate to see why they said they were open. Besides that we were offered nothing for this terrible inconvenience, my husband and I have been in the food industry for many many years, hard to believe they didn’t offer us a complimentary drink or meal for this mess up. I think we are done with Asuka, plenty of other Japanese restaurants around!
We patronized Asuka Asian Bistro and Sushi Bar many times in the past six years, always take-out orders of tempura and shrimp udon noodle soup. Saturday, Oct 11, was our first time dining in (for our son's 18th), and gave me the opportunity to try out their sushi. For appetizers, we had 4-piece shrimp tempura; for the main course, my wife had regular Ramen, son had tempura Udon Noodle Soup, and I had Chef's Delight. Wife and son's orders were served in large pots. At $21, Chef's Delight consisted of 6 pieces of nigiri sushi (each of a different fish), some pickled gingers, a slice of lemon and 4 small servings of wasabi. Black sauce wasn't provided at the table... nor at any table as far as I could see. I had to ask the waitress to refill my wasabi dish twice. Chef Delight's was OK, not the best or the worst, but barely half a meal. The noodle soup entrees were better. Come for that, not for the sushi. Other than that, Asuka Asian Bistro and Sushi Bar had great ambience. I liked the jazz music and that it wasn't loud. We were able to hear each other and the waitress. Lunch time is the best time to go because it is always crowded at dinner time. Whenever I picked out the take-out orders (between 6pm and 7pm), there were many people at the front desk waiting to be seated. For the dine-in, we arrived at 1:50pm and were immediately brought to our table. Didn't have to wait.
It was so disappointed! A group of us came to restaurant earlier to get a table for drinks and dinners. One of person in our group was stuck in the traffic and was not able to come on time. Asuka would not sit us until all of people are there! What's a stupid policy that is! If one person from the group was there the they won't even set up table for us! We finally decided to leave and go to Mizu. They were so happy to see us, even though they were very busy there. They accommodated us right away. They moved table around and get all of us in. A few minutes later our last friend showed up. We enjoyed Mizu so much and we will go back to Mizu again!
I really use to like this place but it went down. The customer service I have nothing bad to say very nice attentive staff. The atmosphere is a Lil drab but cool... my food though!! I got my plate and it taste burnt! Like they hadn't stop to clean the grill and the burnt taste was saturated in every bite I came from garner so I wasn't turning around to go back 60 dollars worth of food in the trash all 3 of us disappointed

the food is amazing however the hostess when i went in was honestly really rude and unpresentable in school clothes. Just expected more kindness from the host definitely put me in a sad mood since it is valentine’s day and conversation felt very bad-mannered

Wish they would let you order the fried tofu in the hibachi or as an appetizer. They only let u have it if u order it in ramen. Super bizarre. I will pay extra for it just let me have it 🤷🏻♀️

Good ramen and sushi. Service was super slow. I came early at 4pm for a special occasion and didn't get served for over an hour. Four tables were seated, served and finished before we got out appetizers. Don't come if you are immediately hungry.

The food was really good but unless you get a booth you are in a very communal setting in the center of the restaurant. You are really on top of each other. Seems like more booths would be better then some two top tables.

We have been here many times over the years and it is usually great.
Our biggest problem was that we were not allowed to order the kids chicken tender meal for our son. Yes, the menu did say 12 and under and he is 16 but he doesn’t much care for anything else on the menu besides the rice and fried chicken bites. He has ordered this several times with no issues.
He ended up with a bowl of rice. Now my question is the kids meal cost more than the bowl of rice so what’s the harm in him getting that. He is small and doesn’t have a huge appetite. My volcano sushi wasn't as good a usual. My wife’s rice and chicken in her bento were very dry. Probably time to find a new sushi place.

A good place for average Sushi. They are a high volume sushi bar and do a great job for the type of restaurant it is. My son loved his sashimi. Everything was very fresh. Sometimes the background music is a little loud. I will probably go back but still searching for a top notch sushi bar.

Not a bad restaurant. Delicious food. A little overpriced. My table was dimly lit, it was even difficult to see the menu. But I was able to see a fly on my sushi! My mood from dinner was ruined.
Parking: I have nothing more to say

A staff named Claudia was being very rude. She was making racist jokes towards others and made me feel very uncomfortable. Other than that, the food was really good. But please have a talk with that rude woman.
