Heard about Backfins two days ago, that they had the best crab cakes outside of Maryland. Absolutely they were the BEST I have ever had, including the ones I had in Maryland. And great and friendly staff.
After reading all the reviews and viewing the pictures we couldn’t wait to go. Since I was born and raised very close to Maryland, I too know good seafood but…. I was pretty disappointed as so was my husband. The stuffed scallops were delicious & hot, the broiled oysters were cold in the middle as mushy. My husband’s combo platter with fried flounder & fried oysters was served hot , the flounder was delicious but the fried oysters were mostly breading and over fried...
First, the address on TripAdvisor is not accurate. They have moved. The correct address is on their website. \nEven with the trip downtown and back to the restaurant which as it turned out was only a mile or so from our hotel, it was so worth it. For starters we had the creamy crab soup. It was indeed delicious. I told our server I was tempted to cancel our order and just get another bowl of soup. Fortunately, we didn’t.
