Carolina Ale House - Wake Forest

Twice now I've been here and the drink specials board over the bar was not accurately updated. I ordered an item that was listed as on special, then was charged full price. Both times I asked for it to be changed and the restaurant caused a fuss about it. This last time the waitress cried, as if me asking to pay the posted price was somehow stressing her out. Their excuse was that they forgot to update the board, so somehow that is the customer's fault. Otherwise the food was excellent and the service was good until being overcharged. When I pointed it out and I asked her to change it, she left, charged the bill, and then returned without an itemized receipt. I sent her back to get it and it showed that the change was not made and they just billed me anyway. Check your bill!

Was asked if we even had permission to come in, we were told that the reason there were so many mistakes was because we had a large party of 10. This place is horrible, my 4 layer lasagna had no meat in it or sauce. My friend had a moldy tortilla and was told that it was a “Sun-dried” tomato embedded in the tortilla. Another one of my friends ordered “fries,” and only got one fry.

First time visiting and really enjoyed it! We will definitely return when we are in town again.
I was expecting the dining room to be very loud, due to all the tvs, but on a Wednesday night at 6pm, I was pleasantly surprised with our ability to carry a conversation at our table without telling or feeling like it was loud, even though the dining room was more than half full.
The pretzel rods appetizer was fantastic! The pretzels were VERY hot, fresh and soft on the inside with a nice firmness to the outside. Both the cheese and mustard dips were delicious.
We enjoyed a refreshing NC apple cider that was very flavorful.
The French fries were so good! They remind me of smaller Rod Robin fries with a hint of batter, got and fresh.
The burger had a great char grilled flavor, was juicy, a large patty that was also quite thick and cooked perfectly at medium. I love avocado on my burgers and this did not disappoint.
The ribs were delicious and we would highly recommend. They fell off the bone and were very tender and flavorful.
The buffalo chicken wings (boneless) were pretty good.
The chocolate cake was to die for. Could easily feed 2 people.

What really stood out was their positive attitude and genuine care for our experience. It’s clear they take pride in their work, and it made our meal even more enjoyable. Outstanding service like this is the reason we’ll definitely be back. Highly recommend asking for Joy if you visit!

The melty meatballs were overly microwaved, you could tell by the microwaved cheese burns on the side and ridiculous amounts of cheese trying to mask the frozen meatball microwaved flavor. Had to send completely cold chilli back twice before i finally said i didnt need it. Service was attentive but the food just ruined it. Unfortunately this place was the closest to my hotel. Will not be back.

Ale house is a top pick for me in the wake forest area, Susie and Rocco are always super respectful and on point with customers, create a great environment for everyone there, the food is on point and fresh every time, couldn’t ask for a better late night spot!
