Crab Rangoon was gross. Egg rolls were red inside? Also gross. Hunan chicken was meh, fried rice was yellow? Also was gross. The only thing that was decent was the egg drop soup.

If you can't get basic Chinese food right, you don't get a 2nd chance. Gross food. Don't waste your money.

p.s. no fortune cookies in the bag. (Should have been a sign)

I have no idea how can anyone give this place 4 stars. Order sweet & sour chicken comes with no sauce but just chicken pieces, order hot and sour soup and the soup tastes bland with no sourness or heat. Ask for extra spicy and they hand you a chili oil on the side. First and the last time ordering from here.

Overall Score: 1.2/10 – A standard Chinese takeout spot with easy online ordering and prompt service, but the low-quality chicken and lack of spice ruined the overall experience.

Atmosphere and Service: 4.2/10 – The restaurant is a typical takeout-only spot with a messy and unpolished appearance. The menu offers a nostalgic Boston-style selection that could appeal to some diners. However, the standout positive was the seamless online ordering process, which included an email receipt, and the food was ready on time.

General Tso’s Chicken: 2.9/10 – A major letdown that ruined the entire experience. The chicken was of poor quality, with a significant amount of hard cartilage making it unpleasant to eat. Despite selecting “medium” spice, the dish lacked any heat or chili peppers, resulting in no spiciness at all. The combination of these issues overshadowed any potential positives and made the dish highly unsatisfactory.

There’s no great Chinese take-out in Wake Forest. I’ve decided they’re all mediocre. I had thought, and still believe a little, that Lin’s Garden has the potential to be really good. But they disappointed me tonight. The egg roll was not good at all. It was so greasy and simply did not taste good. I got an order of crab Rangoon that was pretty much inedible. The wonton wrappers should be crisp and crunchy. These were anything but. It was as if they had already been fried once, allowed to sit out for a day, and then dipped in hot grease just long enough to heat them up again. The kung pao chicken was way too salty. The beef and broccoli was fair. The only thing good was an order of pork lo mein. I really like the family that operates Lin’s Garden. They are so friendly, and their (what sounds to be) American-born sons are so great at handling the order taking duties, I just hate it for them that they don’t seem to appreciate what it could do for their business to ensure they are preparing only the highest quality dishes for their customers. There’s no way I would believe they would serve to their own visiting relatives, the quality of food we received tonight. Wake Forest is wide open for one of the several Chinese take-outs in the area to step up and become known as the best.

First time here. Prices are good. My food was ready when I got there. My one meal I turned into two. My fried rice was a bit dry and my General Tso was sweet. I did not take pictures. It tasted good but not what I had expected. It looked appetizing as well.
Though I understand they are take out only, the front of the restaurant looks like a storage room. I think they need to view the front from a customers perspective.

We have enjoyed this small, family-owned restaurant for 6+ years. Everyone is super friendly, the food is awesome, and just really a great local business we're glad to support with a 5-star review.

We have been ordering from Lin's Garden for nearly 25 years. One of our favorites from Lin's is their hot and sour soup, but we've never been disappointed with anything we've ordered. The food is always good and the service is fantastic. They usually are pulling our to-go order before we even give them our name (don't know if that means we order out too much or if they truly remember us). The food is reasonably priced, offering a great value, as we usually get many meals from one order.

It's take-out only with limited parking, but well worth the trip. Food is cooked fresh and hot while you wait. Egg rolls are wonderful ?. So far, we've had the Sweet and Sour chicken, Honey Chicken & Moo Goo Gai Pan....all were delicious. Highly recommend the Fried Rice as well. Large portions make a second meal possible.

Excellent establishment, lovely people, great food. All I would suggest is, setting up and answering machine or automated message for when they are closed.
