Boss Hog's Chicken & BBQ Reviews
Upfront they have no prices listed. Yes it has a nicer look to the inside but the prices are outrageous now. $6+ for a small piece of dessert! $20 for a half rack of ribs! Over $15 for “a pound of bbq” which we measured the weight and it was under 14ounces. My hamburger steak was kinda burned outside and pinkish inside. Will likely not go back and it’s sad as it was a family favorite place for good quality priced food.
The hush puppies were hard, the fried chicken was over cooked, and the BBQ was dry. They have new menu boards that has NO prices. We asked for the combos (that used to include sides) and now we were charged separately for the sides. We told them we were eating there, they put our order in cheap flimsy to go containers and charged us $.40 per container.
THEY LOST MY BUSINESS.
we stopped by today to get take out at around 4pm. they did not have any more stuffing for the turkey and stuffing SPECIAL. so we ordered the BBQ chicken and Ribs. I can honestly say that we have never had chicken or ribs this bad ever!!! way overcooked!! dried out. could not even chew it. horrible. my husband broke a fork trying to pull the rib bones apart. now that's dry and tough!!!

Boss Hog's Chicken & BBQ is a cafeteria-style restaurant known for its delicious food, with a variety of options that can make deciding what to eat a challenge. The service is generally friendly and helpful, contributing to a pleasant atmosphere. Many customers appreciate the unpretentious environment and the top-notch hospitality. The restaurant is especially popular for its BBQ, including BBQ sandwiches that are generously filled with about a half pound of meat and served with a tasty sauce that is somewhere between Eastern NC vinegar-based and Western NC tomato-based. The food is reasonably priced and often praised for its flavor. However, consistency can be an issue, as some customers have experienced overcooked vegetables and meat, and food quality may vary from day to day. The restaurant’s face mask policy may also influence the dining experience for some. The floor can be very slippery, so caution is advised.
