First time here, the croissant was delicious, buttery, crispy and the egg and sausage were great. The staff were friendly and the vibe was nice. I would come back soon.

Closed middle of the week during Holiday season. No sign on door, limited parking.
When you are in Washington NC, don’t miss stopping for a drink/food at the Washington Cafe. They have delicious coffee options with many favors to chose from, and their food is delightful! All bakery/baked items are made right there and they are not opposed to doing some special things, so ask. They have acai bowls, salads, home made French toast, breakfast burritos, muffins, cookies , croissant sandwiches, paninis, avocado toast, cheese biscuits, etc. soups, etc. if you are like me and wants options other than burgers and fries, go there. You can also get your coffee in a to go cup so you can take it as you walk along the River. I had a homemade granola (gluten free) bar the other day and it was to die for!!
You really must go there! Bob and Delia

Coffee wasn't what I ordered and also waited forever for my item I ordered
The moment I walked in, I was greeted by the warm aroma of freshly brewed coffee and homemade pastries that made my mouth water. The ambiance is charming—think rustic wooden tables, soft lighting, and a playlist of mellow indie tunes that creates the perfect spot for a relaxed brunch or a quick catch-up with friends.
I ordered their signature avocado toast topped with poached eggs and a side of seasonal fruit salad, paired with a lavender latte. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented; the toast had just the right crunch, and the latte was creamy without being overly sweet. The portions were generous, and the prices felt like a steal for the quality.

Staff were very helpful in choosing new flavors to try and made the whole experience very fun for my little one; they even made my child her very own (coffee free) cup of pumpkin spice hot chocolate, which she loved!

Washington, NC is so lucky to have a cafe like this. Delicious coffee and homemade desserts. I don't live in Washington, but I pass by 1-2 times a month and always stop here. The owner was very quick to answer all of my questions before I stopped by. 5 stars! Thank you!

Food is hit or miss. Since owner/manager would prefer to sit and social while watching customers line up and staff run ragged, service is subpar. Not the fault of staff!!!!
