We visited today for afternoon tea - two adults and three kids - and had a fabulous time. All the food was delicious, and the service was great, the tea selection was extensive, and all at a very competitive price. As a Brit, I thought it compared very favourably with any afternoon tea service I've had in England. Highly recommended!

I love the tea from this shop and I've always had good experiences but on my recent visit the worker stopped bagging my tea to help 2 other people empty the trash, including the shop owner. She then came right back to handling tea and sticking her hands inside my tea bags to open them to fill it. She never cleaned her hands. It's an experience that has me questioning the overall cleanliness and safety of buying tea here.

Such a lovely place to visit, with possible gifts spread throughout the shop. But the best part is the loose leaf tea and the High Teas. I can get a whiff of each tea which makes picking easier. I went home with 5 bags. Schedule a High Tea and you’re treated to scrumptious tea sandwiches and sweets in the company of your friends. No where else like it that I know of. I drive 40 miles just to take in the experience.

My mom and I went here for high tea two weeks ago and really enjoyed the day. I treated my mom, and she was very impressed. Dani and her staff were very attentive and patient. The table settings are colorful and well thought out. To begin with, the strawberry soup was delightful and perfect to start the summer, served cold, and it was absolutely delicious. The next course was chicken salad on a croissant with a delicious biscuit and toppings. There is so much to describe, and I highly recommend you try them out. I can't forget to mention the cold peach tea and hot tea, amazing! Thank you from Susan

My daughter introduced me to the Uptown Tea Shop in Waxhaw a couple of months ago by buying some loose leaf tea for me. It wasn’t until yesterday that I went to the shop with her to see for myself. From the outside, you see a house and there are three shops inside. The quality of the decor could be slightly upgraded. The Uptown Tea Shop is in a medium size bedroom which has been converted to a little store.Here against the walls are nearly every flavor and types of loose leaf teas you can imagine. I typically like herbal teas and caffeine free teas and finding something new was fairly easy. There are also tea accessories such as canisters to keep your teas fresh. The prices I found to be inline with the quality of the teas. The customer service associate was polite, helpful and welcoming; needless to say I will be supporting this small business in the future.

My daughter and I went to High Tea at Uptown Tea in Waxhaw this past weekend. We thoroughly enjoyed it! The people, the food, the service, the atmosphere were all impeccable! Dani the owner and Kristen (I believe), the chef came in to check on us periodically. The chef described her delicious creations to us from the homemade chicken salad in pastry to the homemade granola on top of Greek yogurt with baked apples we enjoyed every bite! We pushed ourselves to eat the cheesecake bites at the end! I highly recommend this place, we will be back! Thank you to Dani and the chef for a relaxing mother/daughter experience!
