The Chefs Table was once our go-to for fine dining west of Asheville when we moved back full time to WNC in 2020. We recently dined there on a special occasion, and were happy overall with food and service, though had to rush at the end due to a longer wait on our main dish and a theater curtain time. Unfortunately, I have to rate the experience only two stars as in our rush we left our credit card in the payment folder - after two calls and an email, no response from the restaurant. We were disappointed as locals at this, and will likely be eating at some of the other great new fine dining options in the area as our go-to from here on out.

Terrific experience at Chef’s Table this evening. My wife and I did not have a reservation and actually left to go elsewhere when the waiter came out to get us and asked that we be patient for just a few minutes… we were and I’m glad we stayed.
I had the cheese salad and the ribeye and my wife had artichoke with mushroom ravioli…WOW. All the food was great including the wine. The waiter was very attentive and gave us good recommendations. Even the bread and butter were very good. We plan on returning often.

Absolutely delicious food in a cozy setting. Waiter consulted the chef for a wine recommendation, and it paired perfectly with our meals. The deconstructed lasagna is one of the best dishes I've ever had. I was even able to see them preparing the fresh pasta for it in the kitchen. Highly recommend!

Sorry but not my favorite. I like recommending good places to eat to people I know and most of the time, I get a compliment for my discerning palate. This place though is not for many reasons. Particularly the reservation system. Second, its overly priced, third, food are not that good. Would give zero, and not planning to comeback nor recommending to anyone.

Watch out for reservation as they dont confirm it right away. Also, I dont mind paying overpriced menu items for as long as they are good but this place is not worth it. I have been to other restaurants that offer way more than worth your money. Me and my company could not even finish our dinner it didnt taste good. I was so disappointed with my crab cake as 2% of it was crab meat and 98% fillers/batter. Her chicken entree was not good either she didnt even eat half of it. Gators tail is also not recommended as it is tough and thick breading. Maggie Galley serves gators tail in the area and makes it way better. Crab cake lovers try Sweet Onion or Maggie galley youd get 100% crab meat. Not coming back nor recommending. Also its a bit tight inside the restaurant. That is my honest opinion as a food lover who appreciates good food and moneys worth.

This is one of the best restaurants we have ever been to. We have never been disappointed. These are real chefs. Everything is made fresh all of their sauces are fabulous . The staff is excellent. My favorite dish is the deconstructed lasagna and we always get the goat cheese risotto balls for an appetizer. I can't say enough good things about this restaurant. We highly recommended going you won't be disappointed.

It was a planned 89-year birthday with my wife's sisters traveling here from Idaho and California for the event. I made the reservations on March 3 which I confirmed with a telephone call. At the time I requested a back table for four and your people told me that would be part of my reservation. Attached is a printed copy of my reservation confirmation.

On May 31 I received a reminder for the reservation and a copy of that is attached.

We arrived at “The Chefs Table” several minutes before 1800-hours, the scheduled time where were told that unfortunately another group had come in and demanded our table. It was then suggested that “We leave a phone number and go to the 'The Scotsman' for about 40-minutes where we would be called when a table was ready”. We were told that no matter what we wanted, we would not have a table for 40-minutes during which time we would have to wait outside.

Reservations with the restaurant mean nothing, best have a backup plan.

I can't comment on the food or atmosphere, but only their reservation system. We made an online reservation and awaited a response. We received a phone call stating they could not accommodate us, but offered another time. Before we could respond back, we received an email stating that we were now confirmed. Another email was received later that day informing us we were confirmed. Then two hours before our reservation we were informed that it was cancelled. What the heck!!!! We will not bother with this business again, nor will we recommend it. Get your act together Chefs Table.

This was one of the most incredible dining experiences I’ve ever had. Everything tasted fresh, dynamic, balanced, and simply delicious. I will be thinking about that everything but the lasagna for weeks. My husband and I want to try so many more items and we will be back!

Fabulous local restaurant in a beautiful town in the NC mountains. Beautiful decor, excellent service, and the food was terrific. Fresh made pasta, locally sourced meats and produce. For the level of cuisine, the location, atmosphere, and service the price is reasonable. We dined there for our anniversary and were very happy. Highly recommend for a special occasion or a great meal any time.

Have visited several times and Chef's Table food is predictably good every visit. Hard to go wrong except when you use their online reservation system. Our party, with a confirmation number, was refused seating on May 10th and told since we didn't get a phone call we weren't in their ledger for the night.
