I really appreciate that the owner is overseeing his business and making sure that everything is running smooth.

On vacation and was looking for something to eat for my mother in law who only eats seafood and my family who isn't picky. It was perfect all around. We got Gouda Mac and cheese with bbq, chicken fingers and shrimp and chips everything was delicious would recommend

In the area for a fall trip to the blue ridge parkway, this place was highly rated and to be honest, it should not be. The toast was burnt, the French Onion Alfredo Pasta tasted like Marie Cavenders microwaved dinner, my partners chicken was also burnt (seems to be the flavor of choice). The chili - like corn was over seasoned and the rice was dry. I would have rather eaten at chick-fil-a or even the McDonald’s across the road. The only half decent food we received was the tavern nachos which they skimped on, even Chili’s gives you twice the portion. When I travel I try to avoid chains to give back to the local economy, but I would not eat here again. Me giving them 1 star, is being generous.

Last stop after a day long of reckless eating, so want too hungry. They have a taco Tuesday special, $3 tacos, and I think $5 assorted sides. Wife and I got the shred beef tacos and a side of beans and rice.

Food: Typical white washed tacos, not a fan but I’ll eat em and I did. Tacos were cold, served without salsa, just some drizzle of something on the top. Beans and rice, lifeless without seasoning. Considering where we are, a typical diner in Waynesville NC, it’s not unexpected although there are gems to be found in the area. I could see the how these tacos could pass for the area. Not hating on them, just not my kind.

Price: Pretty decent, $3 for tacos and they’re “normal” size, not street size.

Service: Great. We were checked up on and refilled multiple times.

Atmosphere: Cozy. Diner.

Would recommend, though I personally wouldn’t be back for the tacos.

The old rule is don't order seafood away from the coast, but don't worry about it, you'll be all right. My wife and I both had the seafood combo tonight - cod and shrimp, with fries, hushpuppies and coleslaw - and it was excellent. Best part, without any doubt, was the homemade tartar sauce and cocktail sauce (and i don't like tartar sauce, so that's saying something.) Terrific service and great atmosphere. Well done, we'll be back.

The French onion Alfredo was really delicious 10/10. Wife got the burger and fries and it didn’t come with many fries. She’s a small person but was not full after finishing her meal. Overall the food was good and the prices are reasonable but seems like some dishes are smaller than others.

We were seated quickly. We had the french onion alfredo pasta & the french dip sandwich. Both were delicious! We'll definitely be back to try more menu items. Great place!

My husband got their cheeseburger, which was excellent. I got the seafood combo, with cod & shrimp, which was overbreaded but it was served piping hot. We received great service, but there were only a few people there. Very clean, plenty of parking and t.v.'s for sports enthusiasts.

Chelsea was a wonderful face for the restaurant- she was very polite and a great server! Keeping our drinks full the whole time. We started with the nachos- phenomenal! I had the BBQ sandwich adding some of their chow chow made the sandwich that much better!!!!!!! Kiddos had a charcuterie plate off the kids menu and they loved it- the crackers were HOMEMADE, best crackers I’ve tasted!

Today was our first time eating at The Red Fox in waynesville. Wait time was not bad food was good but I can't say much for our waitress, she was not that friendly never bothered to check in after we got our food to make sure everything was okay. She spend more time talking to tourists I assume trying to get a good tip. Well I've always been an exceptional tipper because I started waiting tables at a family restaurant at the age of 14 so I know how hard waitresses work. I also believe in tipping for Appropriate good service, today's was not good she chatted laughed and talk to others but seem to have an attitude towards us. She missed out on getting a possible $10-$15 tip from me her loss. I'm not a tourist I'm a local and I get asked for recommendations for restaurants a lot. Hopefully if we ever go back service will be better

The pulled pork sandwich was so good it officially ruined all future pulled pork sandwiches for me. Every one will be compared to the sandwich here and I doubt I will ever find one that stands up to it.
