We celebrated our anniversary at this beautiful, understated elegant mountain lodge and loved everything about it. The room, food (where they went way out of their way to accomodate my vegan diet), amenities, hikes/runs, and service were outstanding. Looking forward to our next visit!

Edit July 23rd, 2025: I have now gone 3 years in a row and the staff is superb. They remember your name and who you are. They even did a cocktail class and let me make some of my own drinks along with the other people I came with!
The views were great again this year and the food was excellent. A great few day getaway - every time!

I tend to have high expectations—often only to be disappointed. But The Swag DID NOT disappoint. In fact, it exceeded every expectation I had.
From the moment we pulled into the Welcome Center, we knew we were in for something special. The property is absolutely stunning, with attention to detail that’s second to none. The accommodations are luxurious, the amenities are abundant, and the food is both plentiful and divine.
And while everything about The Swag is truly top-notch, the staff and owners may be the most remarkable part. Their passion for what they do is evident in every interaction, and being surrounded by people who genuinely love where they work added something truly unforgettable to our experience.
This will be the first of many return visits. Well done, The Swag. Well done.

There are certain places on this planet you must see.....hidden gems that are not easy to get to but once you arrive, you know its a unique environment. We just had dinner last night and we can honestly say that we have never experienced a more gracious waitstaff and management team. Every thing was top notch. Views to die for with amazing farm to table food. When the chef talks to you for 15 minutes after the meal you know its not your run of the mill location. Thanks to Hannah for getting us in an being an amazing host.
Words cannot adequately describe the special uniqueness of the swag. The attention to detail in every aspect of our stay was heartwarming. Staff were enthusiastically eager to accommodate all of our requests. This is place is an anomaly.

Steep drive, and some parts of the road are pretty much one lane. But, it's more than worth the drive up. I didn't stay overnight, so I don't know about the rooms. But the views are just incredible, and the food and service were amazing.

Our first visit, but definitely not our last! We stayed in mid-October and were greeted by the crisp autumn air and stunning foliage in full display. The Swag is the perfect place to unwind, hike, and immerse yourself in the beauty of nature atop the mountain.
The meals were exceptional—every one was first class. And the staff? They make you feel like family. We met couples who have been coming for 10-20 years, and after experiencing The Swag for ourselves, we understand why. It’s truly a special place. See you next year.

From the warm welcome at check in to the send off with water bottles and snacks in our car for the trip home, The Swag staff thought of every detail. If you’re looking for a place to unplug from your daily life and experience exceptional service/food, this is it. I can’t recommend The Swag enough and we can’t wait to go back.
