Nice BBQ buffet. Fresh NC BBQ ( vinegar-based), pulled pork, BBQ chicken, fried chicken, Brunswick Stew, green beans, slaw, desserts, salads, potatoes, and fish on Friday! Family atmosphere. Great service.

Ralph’s Barbecue has been a family go to for many years. Minced barbecue has always been a tradition for us, especially since my dad is from North Carolina and we grew up enjoying Eastern NC–style barbecue in Ahoskie, NC. Since we don’t travel there as often, Ralph’s has become our go-to. The minced barbecue has a vinegar-forward flavor that can vary a bit but is always tasty and comforting. Definitely a place we enjoy and return to whenever we are traveling north and south

Delicious food
Closed early I guess?? Please don’t patronize places that can’t have decency enough to stay open their normal business hours. Sad…. Do better Ralph’s.
Restaurantji Recommends
I had a very frustrating experience at Ralph Barbecue. I clearly ordered a flounder plate, but when my food came out, it was catfish. When I pointed it out, instead of correcting the mistake, the staff tried to convince me that what I was given was flounder, even though it clearly wasn’t. It felt like I was being gaslit rather than helped.
Mistakes happen, but how you handle them matters. Instead of owning the error and fixing it, they dismissed my concern and made the situation uncomfortable. Because of that, I won’t be coming back, and I wouldn’t recommend this place based on customer service alone.

I’m writing to share my deep disappointment with the service my party and I experienced at Ralph’s in North Carolina on November 30, 2025. We were a group of 13, and unfortunately, the visit was far from acceptable. One or two members of our group waited 46 minutes for their food, while the rest had the buffet. Despite this significant delay, the manager showed no empathy or willingness to address the issue. His demeanor was unprofessional and disrespectful, his uniform was dirty, and he offered no apology or compensation. This experience was not only disappointing but unacceptable for a place with such a reputation. Because of this, I will not be returning to Ralph’s. I hope this feedback is taken seriously and steps are taken to ensure such an experience does not happen again. Sincerely, Valerie McAfee.

A legendary staple in Weldon NC. The vinegar based barbecue is a must try when you're in the area.
