My son and I go here for a cookie every Wednesday after preschool. They know him by name and are always so nice to us. They have phenomenal baked goods and they're currently taking donations for western NC. Just a great family owned small business.

We just drove through Wendell for the first time. I ordered 2 lemon poppy seed scones and 2 muffins. Both were very delicious. Scones were buttery nice taste. Very enjoyable. The chocolate chip muffin was great. I am not sure they used cocoa in them but whatever they use DON'T change the recipe. We will be back to visit. A traveller's from Cary NC.

I have stopped eating bread from the store & now only eat Carters fresh baked bread. Their cupcakes are moist with the perfect amount of frosting. All of the flavors are delicious ❤️
We have trusted Carter’s for every life event and they never fail to impress us! Most recently, they designed custom sugar cookies and a cake for our son’s 1st birthday party (Toy Story) and they were both gorgeous and delicious. We receive compliments on the desserts they’ve made for every party we’ve hosted and we are so thankful to have found such an amazing family bakery. We came in with my girls and the lady seemed annoyed right away that we came in. We purchased 6 cupcakes and 2 Frosted packages cookies. It was 28$.....which I felt was a lot for what we got but it's my birthday and I wanted to treat my girls and I. We got home and the cookies were so hard my 3 year olds couldn't even bite through them. I tried to bite it and it was absolutely terrible. Then we got home and had a cupcake.....they tasted like box cake mix....the chocolate ones were burnt on top. The frosting was so sugary that it was crunchy. Needless to say we were extremely disappointed.

Beautiful little bakery in a lovely downtown building. The staff was both accommodating and knowledgeable. Everyone was smiling, friendly and easy to work with. I ordered a cowboy themed cake for my grandson’s second birthday and tried their lovely macarons. They outdid themselves. The cake was delicious and exactly what we wanted. The macarons were tasty and colorful…we all enjoyed them. My family and i will be back again and again. Thank you all so much for helping make his birthday dreams come true.
Kid-friendliness: There were children in the shop when i came to pick up our cake. There is plenty of room to accommodate children and a myriad of kid friendly treats.
