We weren't sure what the protocol was at first. Do we wait to be seated? Are there servers? Then the man at the register handed us menus & said sit anywhere & order at the counter when ready. You can see them preparing the food behind them. Everything looked fresh. We got a junior Cuban with plantains & a Havana burger. The food was brought out to us hot & fresh. Drinks were Self serve. The plantains were caramelized & hot. The burger was saucy & stacked. A great lunch for under $30.

Picadillo (think Cuban sloppy Joe) was very good. I am not a fan of green olives, but this dish is very tasty. Black beans and rice were good. I added plantains and they were great. My brother got the steak (Palomilla) and it tasted great, but just a little chewy.

I love that the mountains have this little spot — it has such a cozy charm. The place is small but clean, and it really captures that warm, small-town feel. The owner personally took my order and was very kind, which made the experience even more welcoming.
I ordered the Palomilla Steak meal, and while the service was fast and genuinely friendly (10/10 on that front), the meal itself didn’t quite meet my expectations. The steak lacked flavor, and the rice and beans were a bit bland. I was hoping for more of that bold, vibrant taste I usually associate with Cuban cuisine.
Still, the atmosphere and service were lovely, and with a little more attention to seasoning, this place could easily become a favorite.
Great food at a great price! Loved the Cuban. Plantains were very good too. Make sure to try the garlic cilantro dipping sauce.

Unfortunately, the lower stars are because we can’t really ever get food here. We’ve attempted multiple times to do a pickup order solely because the hours contradict our work schedules, so we don’t have the time to dine in. My partner and I have both attempted to call in orders multiple times in the years we’ve lived here, but we can’t ever get anyone to answer the phone. I think we successfully managed to place an order one time a year or two ago? I’m giving two stars because I don’t think the food was bad the one time we got it, but I don’t really remember.

It's not a full service restaurant bit they're very efficient. Order your food at the counter, make your beverage, and find a seat. Food came out fairly quick.

OK, so I have a two-year-old that we went in with my grandson and he’s a screamer and it was busy and I know I would not want to sit in a restaurant with a two-year-old that screaming while I’m trying to eat.OK, so I have a two-year-old that we went in with my grandson and he’s a screamer and it was busy and I know I would not want to sit in a restaurant with a two-year-old that screaming while I’m trying to eat. That’s not the point it’s the way, the owner I’m guessing behind the counter handled it so our two year-old left out a scream and the guy behind the counter yelled real loud yo. Next time I hear screamed, he came over to our table very very loudly if he continues to scream you’re gonna have to leave. I’ll pack up your food to go . !!!!!!!again it is not the point that he asked us to Lea e it is the way he shouted it !!!!! We took our food out side and ate !!

I have been coming for 25 years , not much has changed for service . Food is always good , Stressful no organization, ever! Great local spot but as someone visiting the area you won't feel welcome. Hopefully they will eventually realize that service is key to another 25 years.
