Kristin’s food is amazing! She knows her barbecue and the sides are out of this world! It’s hard to pick a favorite! Her meatloaf is to die for and she can make some mean wings! You won’t be disappointed! Great place to eat! 😊❤️🎉🎊

Absolutely the best barbque, messed up wings, and burgers! Did I mention the mac & cheese? Yummy!! Not only delicious food but a fun experience!! Kristen is amazing!!! She is the most generous hard working woman I have ever met!! I have so much respect for her! She is a wonderful mother and a friend to all! Even if you are a Tar Heel fan!!! She was instrumental in feeding “her” people ( thousands of meals) when the hurricane devastated our county. Such a giving soul and a great chef!!! We love her!!!

I haven't actually had the food yet. I intend to eat as much as I can get when she reopens the truck this spring. Mainly I'm impressed by her dedication and love for our community. She's pretty cool.

Very good experience

Kristin catered my wedding on 9.21.24. She is truly a gem of a human being. She was sweet and kind during the wedding planning process and always made sure to go the extra mile to offer help in any way she could. Her food was FANTASTIC. Everybody raved about the food at and after the wedding. If you’re looking for somebody with a good heart who makes good food to cater your event, Kristin is your girl!!

Kristin might be the most incredible human I've ever come across, even though we never actually got the chance to meet. Several months ago, my now wife and I reached out to Kristin asking if she would cater our wedding. We'd never had her food, but had seen rave reviews about her business. After just one phone call, we could sense how passionate Kristin was about what she does and how both kind and fair she is. We knew we wanted her as our caterer.

Less than two weeks before our wedding date, Hurricane Helene devastated western North Carolina. We watched from states away as Kristin jumped into action and began serving countless free meals to people in her area, despite herself having suffered damages to her home. She worked tirelessly (I don't think she slept) to help others in a time of crisis. Her selflessness was and is immeasurable.

The area of our cabin wedding weekend was mostly spared from the storms, and we were encouraged by our contacts in the area that it would be safe and isolated enough from restoration efforts to continue as planned. Seeing what Kristin was doing for her community, we certainly didn't expect anything from her, and in fact, we wanted to find ways to support her.

Five days before the wedding, Kristin reached out to me, and despite my protest that our wedding was infinitesimal compared to her community assistance, she insisted on still being there Saturday to serve us. In spite of countless challenges thrown at her from every direction, she just wanted to provide happiness through her food and to be able to support her staff.

I can honestly say that the meals she catered were among the best foods I've ever eaten. The brisket, the pulled pork, the mac n cheese, the potato salad, the hush puppies, the green beans, oh my gosh, it was all unreal. The 45 people in attendance couldn't stop gushing over the food. I think it actually overshadowed the ceremony in some people's minds. The food was plentiful, hot, and way too reasonably priced for its quantity.

My partner and I regrettably didn't get to meet Kristin as we were swept away for photos and vows, but my parents had nothing but the kindest words to share after their conversation with her.

I encourage every person who sees this review to go support Kristin and her business. Her food is incredible, but even more so, she is genuinely an amazing, selfless person. She works way too hard, but her passion is tangible as soon as you interact with her. I hope to return to the area again in the future, and when I do, my first stop will be at Kristin's for everything on the menu.

I would do unthinkable things for this lady's macaroni and cheese. I would fight your grandma. Sell a kidney. Walk 500 miles. Walk 500 more. You name it, I would probably do it for Kristin's mac and cheese. It is my guilty pleasure except I have no shame or guilt about it at all. Try it and you'll see what I'm talking about. Her tacos, burgers and BBQ are great too blah blah blah but that macaroni....

In all seriousness, all of Kristin's food is absolutely delicious and she has a big mouth and an even bigger heart...one of my favorite businesses to support! If you see the Orange beast parked downtown, STOP and you will be glad you did.

Picked up an order on Friday, I got the brisket plate with baked beans and tater tots. Everything was excellent, the brisket was so tender it just melts in your mouth. I have eaten here many times and have never had a bad meal. Kristen always provides excellent service and is one of the nicest people you'll ever meet. A must try while in Ashe county.

Kristin's Hookd On Smoke is one of the shining gems of Ashe Co! The food is incredible and the service is amazing. Her loaded potato salad is DIVINE and all of her BBQ meats are juicy and full of flavor.
