I stopped by for breakfast while I was in town visiting with the Ashe County Beekeepers group. Very tasty breakfast sandwich. Service and staff were great. Very friendly and seemed genuinely interested in making sure you were happy. The place is a bit hard to find due to the fact that the drugstore that it used to be part of is closed down, so the first time I rode by it because I thought the whole building was vacant, but this little cafe is in the corner of the building with an interior entrance. I'm glad that I turned around and found it because it was really a nice breakfast. I'd definitely stop by again, or maybe try a lunch plate next time I am in town!

A real diner! Nice people, food is consistent and a good value. You may drive right by it as the building still has the old "People's drug" sign.

Hard to beat! This lil blast of nostalgia with a yummy breakfast is wonderful! The cafe is small - a mix of 4-person booths and counter service. - but they make a mean breakfast. The price was reasonable, we were served quickly from the flatop where we watched our meals being made.

Giving 4.5 starts. It’s TINY but adorable. Can be a little slow if there’s a rush which happened to us but if you expect anything more than a friendly local spot with tasty treats you need to move on. Everyone was working so hard! A bit of sprucing on walls and floors would help bc the kitchen is immaculate! Never seen a grill so spotless.

A great place to eat. It’s like going back in time to a small town diner in the 50’s. Good food that’s reasonably priced.

A little difficult to find as we didn’t know it was inside the Drug Store, but a hidden gem once we went in. We sat at the counter and an elderly man (we are in our 70’s) struck up a conversation. We talked colleges, football, where we were from, and our destination (Grayson Highlands VA) Breakfast was solid: coffee, eggs prepared as ordered, sausage, toast, and cheese grits. Great service. Friendly staff. Very reasonable prices. Cash discount. I’ll go back next time we are in the area.

Friendly and small local diner inside People’s Drug Store. Homemade biscuits and liver mush fried to preference, exactly the way I like it. Fried bologna, scrambled eggs, and gravy biscuit were delicious! Service and atmosphere was pleasant!
