“I went at lunch time so there were two other people in line in front of me. The wait was very short. I ordered one of the new sandwiches the pickleball club. I am so glad I did. I must say that was one of the best sandwiches I've had from Subway.”
“Everything is delicious! I normally go on Sunday afternoons. The menu selection is good, especially if you like southern cuisine. I really love the sweet potato casserole! The service is excellent!”
“The Reese’s peanut butter cup shake was amazing and very thick, but I’ve seen collapsed lungs that work better than the straws they give you here to drink milkshakes. Music playing was like thrifty nickel version of Nickelback, oh wait that’s country music. Nevermind … anyways the ice cream is fantastic! Come check ‘im out!”
“Small town coffee shop. Visited on a Sunday afternoon passing thru town and saw it open. Got the tiramisu coffee. Had I not been on the road I would have went back and see if they sold it by the bag. Really good. Friendly service. Definitely ”
“I have been visiting Melvin's since 1984...the best burgers worldwide. I will not eat burgers anyplace else. My drive is 1 hour one-way and it is worth the monthly trip.”
“Had opportunity to try this place out finally! Well worth the drive. Ribs and sauce were outstanding. Good smoke ring, perfect texture, hot and tasty! Pulled pork (tried with no sauce on top) was excellent southern style. Beans were sweet and tasty. Cornbread was moist and delicious. Got the ham and biscuit pudding to go…tbd on that! Check it out!”
“We stopped here on our way out of state and was very impressed. We were greeted warmly and the food was amazing. Sandwich shoppe menu items with a burst of flavor! We will definitely be back.”
“Service was okay. Not quite as friendly and helpful as a southern bakery should be. But the desserts were really fresh and delicous!! Slightly pricey but you get what you pay for and these are some delicious desserts. The plain frosted crousants are a must try! Has a nice place to sit inside to enjoy with free outdoor parking. Bathrooms are in the building as well.”
“We have been there many times. It's our go to place and have never been disappointed. The amount of food you get for the price is well worth it.Parking: Have had no problem parking. There is parking on both sides of the building.Kid-friendliness: They cater to the kids as much as the adults.”
“This is my all time favorite Mexican restaurant! Doña Mary is a wonderful lady and the atmosphere is very welcoming. It's always decorated for an added perk to the dining experience. Authentic Mexican food here and it tastes very good, especially the goat and tongue tacos ?? I also recommend the chicken quesadillas and cactus ?? Actually, I would recommend everything on the menu because it's all so good!Dietary restrictions: Lots of fresh, healthy vegetables that are prepared depending on how the customer wants them.”
“Incredible place for drinks and food with friends. The bartenders and staff are incredible. They also host live entertainment most weekends and trivia on Thursdays. This is definitely a community staple of White Lake. If you haven't been, you're definitely missing out.”
“Great place to treat yourself or your family to Mexican Food. It definitely stands out from everything around it on the outside. It's trimmed in lights.. The inside looks awesome as well. But the food is delicious. They also have a lil small game room area as u enter.. entertain yourself while u wait for your table to come available. They move super fast at seating u as well.”
“We stopped by on a long drive home and this place rocked. I enjoyed their refried beans and pastor tacos, but their service was superb. Que buen servicio! Gracias!”
“Love the food here, wish they had booths instead of kitchen tables it would give the place a more intimate setting. The way it is set up now it Kind of feels like you’re just out in the middle of someone’s living room with everyone watching everyone else eat.”
“I wanted to see the Museum of the Albemarle and I wasn't expecting any culinary majesty while visiting Elizabeth City. I WAS WRONG! The food at the Cypress Creek Grill is at least a six! There is a chef back there! Linda and I were late for lunch and early for dinner, so oft times one doesn't expect too much. Let me tell you, Linda's Sea Scallops were sensational, and my New Orleans Barbequed Shrimp was prime delish. The homemade yeast rolls were superb as dipsters in the tangy sauce for the shrimp. The salads were fresh and zesty, and the clam chowder, you must try! Not that familiar with Elizabeth City, we could see the water from this nice eatery, but the service and the food was exemplary.”
“This food was great. Said they are voted #1 in Bladen Co. I can see why. Lots of outdoor seating. Limited indoor. Pizza is great. Enjoyed one of the salads and even some fried foods. Sodas are limited. Great beer and wine selection. Worth a check if you're in the area.”
“I have came to this establishment about 4 times. And every time I came, the food was very good and a reasonable price. The waitresses are always nice and polite, and this time the owner spoke with me, and he is a nice gentleman and very polite. I have tried the teriyaki chicken, hibachi chicken, and a veggie bowl. All three were delicious but my favorite is the teriyaki chicken. Can't go wrong for a meal and dr.pepper under 11.00. Give them a try you won't be disappointed”
“First time customer. Was there for their Lunch buffet. Food was very fresh and always fully stocked. Staff was friendly and came by my table frequently. I recommend them.”
“I always order the Mini size Roast Beef, very delicious but expensive $8 for this mini sandwich. Wish it had just a little bit more Roast Beef on it.. the bread is fresh and delicious too!”
“An Evening of Delight at the Cork Room: A Gastronomic Gem amidst TranquilityOur arrival at the Cork Room was like stepping into a peaceful haven. The quiet hum of the lake, the charming cabins nestled amongst the trees, and the gentle breeze set the stage for an unforgettable experience. Even before entering the restaurant, the atmosphere was captivating. Unique shops and friendly animals like ponies and peacocks added to the whimsical charm.Inside the Cork Room, the owner's passion for art was immediately evident. Walls adorned with celebrity memorabilia and movie costumes transported us to a world of entertainment. But the true stars of the show were the hospitality and the food.Chef Timothy's culinary artistry shone through in every bite. The pimento cheese, a creamy delight, set the bar high. My wife, with her gluten allergies, was pleasantly surprised by the accommodating menu options. Her choice, was shrimp and grits and to her delight was fantastic. As for me, the cowboy ribeye was a revelation - perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor. The decadent three-layer chocolate trifle was the perfect ending to this incredible meal.Beyond the food, the staff left an equally lasting impression. Chef Timothy's infectious passion for cooking was evident as we chatted, making us eager to return for another culinary adventure. Our waitress, Michelle, was a gem - attentive, friendly, and effortlessly ensured a seamless dining experience. This wasn't just a meal; it was an experience. The 80s night, buzzing with energy and laughter, added another layer of fun to the evening. This place, with its unique blend of tranquility, art, and culinary excellence, truly deserves its high praise.Looking for a getaway that combines peace, nature, delicious food, and warm hospitality? The Cork Room is your one-stop shop! Come experience it for yourself - you won't be disappointed.”
“The Corner Cafe is one of my favorite brunch spots on Saturday mornings! I love how they serve breakfast and lunch, because sometimes I can never decide if I want breakfast or lunch! The service was great and the staff was nice! loved the location! It was nice to look outside of the big windows and people watch!”
“Update July 2023: Again, the hamburgers were very good. Now the hot dogs, well, those not so much. They look like something from a gas station. That was simply thrown away. The prices are a bit high. Everything has to be ordered separate. No combo or discounts for ordering a whole meal. We had to order seven drinks, six burgers and one hot dog, and seven fries. It was over $80 dollars.July 2, 2023: We had a nice experience. The service was nice. The burgers were very good. I'm very appreciative of those. They seemed to be fresh hamburger. My concern were the tables being wiped down...hence the 4 stars for the atmosphere.”
“Always a pleasure getting a sandwich from here. The place is always clean and the employees are very professional. There can sometimes be a problem with the "language barrier" since most of the employees are Hispanic, but I solved that with printing my order completely in Spanish and giving it to them each time! Very nice place. Food: 8/10, Freshness: 9/10, Service: 7/10”
“The food is decently good, but the customer service is what brings me back. They are always so welcoming! We usually eat pretty healthy, but my kids love this as a fun dinner meal.”
“Great customer service. Samaya was awesome. Coming from Raleigh, where customer service is horrible, it was refreshing to come here and get fresh food fast and great customer service!!!”
“I have to admit the food is really good. The only thing I wish they did was to print out orders that come on the chow now asap rather than wait until I come in and ask for my food and they act like they don't know what I'm talking about until they look at the chow now kiosk. So it said my food would be ready for pick up in 15 mins. Once I get there about 20 mins later because I know they are very busy, my food wasn't even noticed until I came in and asked for it. So I actually waited there about 30 mins until all my food was ready. My advise is pay more attention to the chow now kiosk for when orders come through.”
“Amazing way to get exactly what you want at a Hibachi restaurant. Choose the fresh food from a "salad bar" style setting, including rice or noodles, many fresh veggies, and 4 types of meat. They then cook it for you on the Hibachi grill. What you have put on you plate, they serve it up for you, hot and tasty. It is so very good. Best hibachi grill around and can compete with most any hibachi grill anywhere. The atmosphere is typical for a small town and could improve but otherwise, it is great, great, great!Vegetarian options: You choose from the bar what you want to eat. Meat is optional.Dietary restrictions: You can do a full keto meal here if you like.”
“Great customer service and never have to wait. Their caramel frappes are my favorite!!! ??Kid-friendliness: My kids absolutely love going!!Wheelchair accessibility: Yes I have seen wheelchair accessibility.”
“We loved our chicken sandwiches but would it kill someone to actually try to have a clean dining area? Lots of employees in the kitchen but no one bothered to go clean the dining room. The tables were dirty, food on the floor, and the drink station needed attention. That is exactly why I limit my KFC intake.”
“They are inside of Camp Clearwater at the pavilion. The pizza is off the hook here! No to mention the boneless and bone in wings!! They'll fix it EXACTLY like you ask! It's the BEST PLACE for pizza and wings at White Lake! Run , don't wait, and GO!!”
