This is the best fish restaurant within Whiteville and among other counties, people from a radius from 50 miles just for this Fish House. Its the best food and prices for the amount of food you get around N.C.I never heard one complaint about the food.I give thanks to the sweetest owner Gladys and Ricky Tyson who makes it possible with years of experience ,really talented cooking.Just come and see and give us your own opinion .

We really enjoyed our visit to the Fish House. The service was excellent and the food was hot, fresh and delicious. My husband had the choose 3 - shrimp, flounder and clam strips. I had the shrimp burger with fries. The plate was overflowing with shrimp. We'll be back!

If you are looking for the classic frozen pre-breaded drop it in the fryer seafood, this place is not for you. The Fish House in Whiteville NC is the real deal. I watched them take a flounder fillet that was sitting on ice in a cooler and bread it along with some shrimp that I had ordered. In a few minutes, I had some the best fried seafood I had ever eaten. I honestly can't think of any better fried seafood I have had. There have been some places that come close, but you can get world-class fried seafood in Whiteville NC if you know where to find it. It's a little hard to find as it is not on the main drag and the signage is lacking. Make sure you bring cash as they do not take credit/debit card. I think if they did, they would do a better business as their prices are moderate. They are a little more expensive than the places that take it out of the freezer and drop it in the fryer. Another reviewer noted poor customer service. I have been there about a half a dozen times, and they have provided me, and the other customers I observed, with fantastic, friendly, customer service. I am not questioning the other reviewer's experience, but I don't think it's the norm by any means.

AVOID THIS PLACE! I don't even know where to begin. This is a small building on a back street. I wouldn't have been able to find it if I wasn't with my parents who have been a few times. It's the only place that I've heard of in Whiteville, NC that sells freshly cooked spots and I really wanted a plate. When my parents and I got ready to order I saw a sign stating that they didn't accept debit/credit cards. We left, went to the bank and returned to complete the order. The entire reason I came there in the first place was for the spots, they didn't have any. I ended up settling for a flounder and shrimp combo instead. It was $11.50!!! The side item was a choice of rice or fries. Hush puppies and drinks were charged separately... Now, I don't know about you but there is no way that I'm paying that amount for a lunch. I told the older lady behind the counter that I'd changed my mind and she said "get out and don't come back "! As I'm walking away she continues to talk at my back until I got to the door. I told her she didn't have to behave that way because of the choices I make with MY money. Needless to say, words on both sides were exchanged. Fish House will never have to worry about me, or anyone I know ever doing business with them. I quite literally tell EVERYONE I come into contact with about this experience and recommend Mark's Seafood instead. Great customer service, Great food with many menu options and the flounder and shrimp combo during lunch hours is $6.95... hush puppies included
