On August 14th I picked up a strawberry cake that Vernon had made for my grandson’s 14th birthday. The party was supposed to be held at a campground on the Saturday after the cake was picked up. Vernon told me that since we were not eating it until Saturday that I may want to freeze it which I did. In the time from Wednesday until Saturday two members of our family became very sick so the party was postponed until August 24th That weekend another family member came down with Covid and the party had to be postponed for the second time. The cake is still in the freezer at this point. Due to conflicts in scheduling with family members the party was rescheduled for Sunday, October 6th. In the meantime the hurricane hit knocking out power at our home for almost three days. Thank goodness for generators. We were able to keep that cake frozen through the storm. We finally had the party on Sunday October 6th and when I cut that cake it was as fresh and moist as it had been the day I picked it up on August 24th. The take away from this story is Vernon’s cakes can be frozen for two months and they will taste as fresh as the day you brought them out of his bakery.

Vernon made our gender reveal cake and it was absolutely adorable! The cake was lemon blueberry and it was delicious!

I recently did a surprise 50th Anniversary celebration for my wife and ordered cupcakes, sheet cake, and layer cake from Vernon. All were beautifully done and absolutely delicious (white cake with butter cream) ! Vernon even put gold highlights on all three. Our guests raved about the cakes and asked who prepared them !Jim in Wilkesboro

My mom had my 40th birthday cake made here and it was the BEST cake ever! Everyone at the birthday dinner said they had never had a cake as good as this one. Honestly the best cake we’ve ever eaten! My mom brought him a photo of what I wanted and it he made it exactly like the pic! Best buttercream icing ever! Thank you so much!

Had a coconut cake made at Vernon's, it was moist and delicious. Highly recommend this establishment for any of your confectionery needs.

What a delight!! If you are looking for an authentic bakery this is it! I picked up a loaf of freshly baked sourdough bread and it is outstanding. I also picked a few sweet items that are so delicious. Go find Vernon in Wilkesboro!!

Vernon did an amazing job on my daughters 15th bday cake! She absolutely loved it! Not only that, the staff was pleasant. Vernon was very friendly and easy to talk to. And everything was done on time. We will be back again and again for his delicious cakes and treats!! Thank you Vernon!!
