Came here for a later Tuesday lunch for two, no reservation and had no issues getting sat right away. Very cool atmosphere, embraces a bit of an industrial style with some great music but the food feels hardly industrial. Also had options to sit outside or inside, as long as the weather was nice. We started off splitting an order of elote and a complimentary plate of chips and salsa. Both very tasty and not overly heavy like some other elote I've had. We decided to go for the taco Tuesday theme and went for the Miami vice (basically a spicy Cuban sandwich), the loaded potato, BBQ pork, and tequila chicken tacos. All were delicious, but my personal favorite was the Miami vice, but I am a sucker for a Cuban sandwich. The loaded potato has a lot of potential, but I think could be a little more substantial filling wise. But on the topic of portions, these tacos are bigger than your usual which was a pleasant surprise! Would be happy to come back and try more of their tacos and other various tex-mex fusion delights. Staff was super friendly and made sure to keep tabs on us throughout the meal. A good amount of public parking nearby on the street or paid lots.

Whether you want a quick, reliable bite, or desire to sit down for a spell and immerse yourself in Mexican fusion, you can find it at Beer Barrio. It's often the simple things and even your starter of chips and salsa differentiate with warm, fresh tasting corn tortilla chips and a salsa with just the right amount of piquancy. Starters have all the usual favorites, from Guacamole to Elote to Chicharrones, plus some local flair like Hush Puppies. Try their rotating lineup of 30+ craft beers on tap. I went with a Classic Lime Margarita (on tap and therefore remarkably consistent whenever you visit). Although known for their Burritos, we went Tacos this evening. The trio pictured consisted of the following (left to right): Tequila Grilled Chicken taco - Corn tortilla with guacamole around a hard taco, tequila grilled chicken, queso fresco, lettuce, pico, sour cream. Good for gluten free diets as well and crunch wrap filling. The Miami Vice taco - Flour tortilla, Oaxaca, queso fresco, award-winning Carolina-style pulled-pork and beer-brined al pastor, topped with pickled jalapenos, pickles, and mustard. There is a lot going on here, with flavors bursting in different directions at every bite. Not for traditionalists but oh so good. Local Catfish Po Boy taco - Flour tortilla, beer-battered catfish, garlic mayo, lettuce, pico. My favorite of the evening with well battered yet light catfish and great texture. Try and nab a table outside if you want to people watch the happenings downtown.

I'm heartbroken! I've enjoyed this place for years but just had most of goodness wiped away with a nine dollar beer!!! There's just no justifying paying that much for a sixteen ounce glass. Don't bother! Sure wish I'd asked before ordering!!! Whoever the greedy ..... was that set those prices needs a serious dose of karma!

Absolutely delicious tacos! Smaller place with indoor and outdoor seating and service with bar seating too. Large draft beer selection. We really enjoyed the chips and salsa. Friendly staff.

Your prices are at nine dollars for a pint. Yeah right. Cheapest beer is seven dollars for a can of domestic. Get real.

The service was good until I was honest about not liking the food. Then the server became snippy.

Great creative Mexican themed menu. We were originally attracted there when we saw their massive guac bowls as we passed the sidewalk tables. More recently they have introduced a fantastic cerviche. Extensive beer selection of about 30 taps tops it off. Parking at the Market St garage nearby is usually a buck or two.

The restaurant was good overall, but not outstanding. The food had nice flavor and was enjoyable. The service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was comfortable which made the experience pleasant. I ordered the taco salad. Would order again!

It’s definitely a solid place to grab a meal, but not somewhere I’d go out of my way for. Still, if you’re in the area, it’s worth trying.
