I have never left a review for a restaurant faster than we have left this one. We are still in the parking lot as this review is being left. Saw this place on our frequent trips to Wrightsville as a nice place to eat. Also admired their renovations and it look supremely edible online. Upon entering the sanitation grade was a 92. This may have been the first indicator as how the meal would progress. We were seated to a cozy corner booth adorned with all that is necessary for a evening dining experience. We started with a Riesling that was the only highlight of the evening. We ordered fish and chips for the baby. The fish was extremely greasy and the fries were not seasoned properly. They were overpowered by a heavy handed white pepper musk. The topsail tervy were ok, they had a fish tank smell, indicating they were not as fresh as they could be. Maybe a day past their prime. We then ordered the oyster devil eggs. They tasted of a standard cafeteria style devil egg, nothing special, severely underwhelming. We then ordered small plates, consisting of fried oysters that tasted of basic flour batter, fried green tomatoes that were to thin to battle the batter, under seasoned and soggy. They were supposed to be topped with pimento cheese, but the pimento was missing the pimento. The seared scallops chewed like a piece of bubble yum. The grit cake was creamy and crispy but void once again of any seasoning. The only redeeming part of the dish was the bacon jam. All in all it went from underwhelming to supremely disappointing. We decided to leave before any of the dishes were complete. Paid the tab to reward the waiter for the service provided and made a reservation for another restaurant across town. We will never be back nor recommend this restaurant to anyone.
First off, the server was very good and the restaurant was clean, good atmosphere. The place is not on the sound, no water view.Had fish tacos and sliders, the tacos are served on a board flat with tortillas. Wife wasn't too thrilled about it. I had the sliders, good, but one slider was half raw.Asked about soup, clam chowder, not on the menu. That should be first on the menu for a seafood restaurant. Also the parking lines are mostly worn off, hard to tell were to park at night.
Our group had the biscuit dish with a side of grilled shrimp, the egg scramble dish, salad and oysters. Oysters were great, the biscuits were soft, the egg dish was beautiful and light, and the shrimp were grilled well. 4 stars because of service. Salad arrived without dressing, and nothing extraordinary but getting the food to the table. There were only a handful of people at the restaurant being served, but we were rushed out with the check and my plate was attempted to be taken away before I was finished.
The waitress was excellent. The waitress brought complementary biscuits with butter to the table before our meal, and they were dried out to the point of being almost crunchy. The entrees were just... ok. The appetizer (peel and eat shrimp) seemed very dried out as if it had been sitting around a long time. The hush puppies with honey were obviously burnt. For the price, the food was simply not good.
We went here on a whim because the place we had intended to eat (Cerviche) was closed, and I wasn't disappointed. All the food was excellent. Classier place but we rolled in looking sloppy in bathing suits post-beach and nobody gave us a hard time which was nice. Oysters were delicious but a tad pricey at 3.75/pp. Seemed like they were a little short on serving staff as well but other than that it was a great experience and I would definitely go back.
Great seafood. Good atmosphere and good music for Sunday brunch
GREAT food, service and atmosphere! We will be back!!
Very good menu and staff is excellent
Beautiful Brunch. Loved the live music and got their early enough to enjoy it at the shades patio seat.
It was hot inside- wait staff said they were having A/C problems for a while, they fixed it, now it's half fixed. I will add we did not have fried seafood- maybe for that this is the place. Oysters Rockefeller were good but entries were not very good, especially for the price point.

Delicious! A very nice dining experience with tasty drinks and fun dishes! The gumbo is fantastic and the fries are really great too.
Staff was wonderful, food excellent and atmosphere lovely. Our party of 12 was able to make a reservation (this has been a challenge in the area) and all in our discerning party were pleased with meals and bar drinks. Everything was fresh and seemed scratch-made, down to the tartar sauce and chive butter. Cioppino had just enough heat and a good amount of protein, scallops were perfectly cooked with delicious risotto and sprouts, salmon outstanding, calabash platter worth repeating, wedge salad fantastic. Even the kids were happy with chicken tenders and hamburgers and the fries really were amazing. Only criticism came from the guys who thought the mule was a little too sweet, but the gals liked it just as is.We've been dining in the Wrightsville Beach area every summer for ten years at different restaurants at similar price points. This was top of the list to date.
Oh my gosh this was delicious! Soundside Seafood is where Boca Bay used to be for many years and we came in for brunch on Memorial Day weekend. We started off with bloody Mary and Mimosa and oysters Rockefeller! They are semi-local farm raised and phenomenal! I had the seafood crepes and she had steak and eggs. Mine was definitely the favorite but we shared half and half and both choices were excellent! They also brought us biscuits and homemade jam and butter and a fruit bowl. I'm comfortably full and extremely satisfied... We can't wait to come back for more!! Renee was an excellent server and took great care of us. The outdoor patio was perfect for brunch and nice shading from the summer sun!
Sam, our server assured us we would love her Long Island Ice Teas. We wanted top shelf. She did not disappoint! My friend and I had the calamari and deviled egg appetizers. Very Good! My friend had the brunch burger, it came loaded, onion rings, eggs and all! I had the shrimp and grits. Nice portion, great taste and texture. This place is nice! The decor is like upscale non stuckup. Nice staff, great teamwork. We will return. This is a big plus for Wilmington and native New Yorkers, who call Wilmington home!
Service is fantastic. Any pasta dishes are water with tomatoes, and some seafood. Big plates are just small plate portions on a bigger dish. Scallops need salt to enhance the seasoning, but are grilled okay. Salmon is fantastic. Calamari is cooked well, but the Remoulade’s mayonnaise went bad, which adds to an already over-acidic taste. Just stick to lemon, no vinegar in that stuff, please. They need a warning on the peanut sauce for Brüssel sprouts that are included with the scallops, not just the small plate sprouts. Overall, $300 for 4 people, it felt like students out of culinary school made this? Confusing, since I’m sure they’re skilled.
