Crazy good. The best gluten free baked good I've had in years. I love that they have so many delicious flavors. Brought the regular ones home for family and they were a huge hit! Friendly service too

A few years ago a coworker of mine who has a 2nd home in NC recommended this place when I was trying to come up with a new idea for a Mother's Day gift. I placed an order online and had it shipped to my Mom in TX. She loves these cakes. Every year she asks for them now,lol. Great gift idea! Plus they have gift bag options and bows. Nice touch.

We just tried a few rum cakes from here yesterday and I don't see the appeal. All the cakes are pre-boxed with no way to sample or see what you are getting. We bought three small cakes to take home and try. My wife and I tried two of them and while not terrible, we didn't really care for them. The coconut was almost bitter tasting with no coconut flavor and had a few nuts baked in which I didn't know it had. I actually prefer the Tortuga brand pre-packaged cakes you can find at most gift shops. The service was just okay. The guy wasn't really friendly or eager to help us but he wasn't rude either. Just kind of neutral, ho-hum attitude.

My experience here wasn’t amazing. When we walked in there was no one in sight and after a few minutes someone came from the back to help us. When you walk in you may be expecting the cakes to be on an obvious display but there is a big empty counter as soon as you walk in which is immediately off putting. We spent a lot of money here and were excited to try the cakes. The atmosphere was very quiet and dull with no music or aesthetic effort. The cakes we tried were mushy and almost wet. I saw the several “moist” advertisements about how the cake is preserved and made but I think the locked in moisture with no air to breathe makes the cakes more like mush then a cake texture. I’ve had several rum cakes before but never where it melts in your mouth not in a good way. Over all not a great experience but just as a business approach not a personal one.🙂

I took it to a Mardi Gras party, so I added some icing and colored sugar, and everyone was wowed by how great it looked and tasted. We couldn’t wait to see who got the hidden baby figurine inside. Laissez les bon temps rouler…let the good times roll with this wonderful cake!
Great place! I live downtown but had never stopped in until my mom came to visit. I’d never much cared for rum cake before but she loves it. We each got a cake to try and it was amazing definitely going back there. Also read the 1 star reviews and think it’s odd people didn’t like the customer service( though most be from the same party mad about no samples of an already boxed product) so to anyone worried about that they are very nice.

Wandered into the shop while exploring Wilmington and was pleasantly surprised to find 6 different gluten free flavor options! We opted for the pain killer and funfetti! We just opened the funfetti and it is the most moist cake I’ve had and incredible in flavor and texture!
