No stars because we ordered 2 milkshakes,after 35 minutes of waiting, we had to get someones attention to get our money back. Guy was very rude and mouthy. Will never set foot in this cookout again. Had to put one star to be able to post, should be zero stars.

I would like to post a positive review. I was told how delicious the hush puppies were. I stood at the register for 5 minutes, with employees in the back looking at me through the opening, and was never waited on. This was today 1/01/2025 @ 1:00 pm. There were a number of employees back there based on the sound of their voices. I gave you the date and time so you would know who was on the clock, and who to talk to if you want to. Employees will perform at the minimum level that you expect.

I ordered a chocolate caramel milkshake and it was very liquidity and all the chocolate was not mixed, I also got an Oreo milkshake and there was barely any oreo

I’m a huge customer of The COOK OUT RESTAURANTS, especially the Carolina Beach Rd store. Most of the time the food is delicious and convenient. I’m particularly fond of the BBQ sandwich with Cole slaw and hot sauce . Their Huge sweet tea is a favorite as well as the Double Chocolate milkshake. The food is fresh and prepared per order. The line of cars can be overwhelming at times , but always seems to move quickly and efficiently. You never know who you will find in the drive thru line… I recently saw a HUGE MOTOR HOME squeezing through the drive thru line with a Big Banner saying WOMEN FOR TRUMP . See photos
Sketchy people working here recently. Wife and I went there 11/4 around 7pm. Person infront of me paid cash. When i went to pay cash for my food the guy closed the window and said “we have another paying cash” then here from the back “clear it out it the system.” Asked for my receipt and their receipt printer “isn't working?”
They're clearly pocketing the cash. If i were management i would investigate whats going on here. Didn't even ask for my change because id prefer to not have spit on my cheese-bites.
I’ll stick with food elsewhere.

The chocolate chip mint milkshake used to be my main reason to come here, it used to have like 200 large chocolate chips. It was absurd but awesome. Now when I go there, I get about 30 super tiny chocolate chips EVEN WHEN I PAY FOR EXTRA. I've never seen a downgrade this bad at a restaurant before. It's almost 100 times less chocolate per milkshake. I'm done wasting my money at this place.

Y'all really going to handout 1.25 worth of materials in styrofoam and plastic for like .10¢ of quesadilla sauce?
The restaurant was clean and the food came out quickly. It was difficult to get into the parking lot though.
