Our family went here for lunch today. The staff were very friendly and the restaurant was nice. Unfortunately that’s where the “good” ended and the flavorless began… For as empty as the restaurant was, it took quite awhile for our food to come out. I ordered a piña colada, that tasted nothing like a piña colada. It was more like an orange flavored Slurpee. My daughter ordered a Shirley Temple that she said did not taste like a Shirley Temple. As far as the food went, the ketchup was the most flavorful thing on the table. The scallop Waco tacos were more slaw than anything, the Cuban sliders were very dry, the yellow rice was a bit overcooked, and in general, things just lacked flavor.

Came to this restaurant with my wife and daughter on a friday evening maybe around 5 pm. The service was phenomenal. Host, servers, bartender, even the manager who stopped at the table and interacted with my daughter was very sweet. We felt very welcomed here. The atmospherehe was nice for the most part. The tile work on the floor seemed unfinished, as if they didnt have enough materials to have one complete theme for the floor so it seemed inconsistent with the rest of the establishment. But we're here for the food. And this is where i cant recommended this restaurant. We got a appetizer of 1 pound of steamed mussels. They took longer than expected, the waiter apologized to us twice. Thats fine, i appreciate the open communication and i understand waiting. When we got the mussels, they looked bulbous with pockets of salt water that popped like a balloon in my mouth. Ive only experienced mussels once before so i didnt have to much comparison to base it of off. I trusted the cooks to sell us quality food so we ate them all. I regret it. Later that night once we got home, me, my wife and my daughter were all in pain. Multiple trips to the bathroom, daughter screaming with belly pain, my wife on all fours about to hurl. I did further research on mussels and now know what we received were not good. They shouldn't have been sold. But for dinner I ordered the blackened seafood pasta. It was delicious, but the mussels in my pasta were still the same questionable quality as my app. My wife ordered the fisherman's cobb and she enjoyed it. Great presentation and hearty portions. During the meal the server asked of my wife would like another soda. She didnt tell us that it wasn't free refills so once we got the bill, we were charged $7 for 2 ginger ales. Overall, the service was great. But for the health of my family, if i cant trust the quality of a seafood restaurants seafood, i unfortunately dont think ill be coming back.

Our experience started out ok but went downhill quickly. Sat at a high top in the bar and was greeted by the bartender. She seemed a bit frazzled but there was only a 2 top at the bar? We got a drink order in and that was about when it went south. Asked what type of shrimp were on the PoBoy and was told marinated shrimp and then fried. I then asked what size, and she said "Average".. Then I asked if the Flounder on the Poboy was fresh or frozen she replied "fresh, always fresh". My wife ordered a burger medium. Food shows up and the burger was Well Done and Dry. No condiments at all. The Flounder was NOT fresh and was complete mush. I've been in the Seafood industry for many years and can clearly tell the difference. I decided to overlook the mushy frozen Flounder Poboy and asked for some Mustard for the Well-Done burger and the bartender said "OK, I'll go get it". We waited, waited and waited, NO Mustard. When I finally asked for the Mustard again the bartender gave me a "someone asked me about some fish, I'll get it in a second" meanwhile my wife's Well-Done burger was getting cold... (teaching moment here). When the bartender finally arrived with the ramakin of Mustard she literally tossed it on the table like she was frustrated... We left half a burger and half a Poboy and was not asked if we wanted a box, which we wouldn't have but it would have been nice to offer. No Manager visit to our table to check on our experience. Poor service and poor-quality food will keep us from visiting this restaurant ever again.. Lots of potential but lacking management and training.

Location was cute but that was the only positive.
We ordered an app when our drinks arrived and our waitress did not come back until the app came out and then asked if we needed more time to order our meals 😳
Calamari over cooked and breading completely falling off, with burnt specks in the breading.
I was super excited for my meal but was so disappointed. The fish honestly tasted like it was frozen. It was extremely overcooked and watery. The rice was so clumpy I could pick up portions. My husband‘s mashed potatoes had a dark film on the top and the inside of the mashed potatoes was a different color, definitely removing from the date night list.

I took a video tapping my fork on the fish but it won’t let me upload it

Surprisingly, good restaurant next to the movie theater. Food is actually better than the restaurant basics and they allow substitutions. The Caesar salad actually has anchovies in it. The piece of flounder was huge. Zoey was great. And you even get 10 percent off if you go to the theater. But the prices were very good even without the discount.

Went here last night for my birthday, Service was phenomenal and the atmosphere was beautiful, unfortunately there was a hair in my soup I ordered and saw it at the bottom of my bowl just when I finished it.. I also ordered steak, mashed potatoes, and asparagus and instantly did not feel well after my meal, not even 4 hours later I was vomiting it all up.

We went for the first time on Friday for date night. We sat at a table in the bar area and the vibe was awesome. Modern and fresh coastal vibe with eclectic patrons set the stage for good energy and high expectations. The food though... knocked it out of the park! We had calamari that was top 3 best we've ever had, house tarter sauce can be bottled and sold in stores. Blackend seafood pasta was a real win with perfect sauce and lots of seafood. Will definitely be back with friends in tow next time! Oh and definitely get the coquino-rita!

Top notch service! The hostess was warm and welcoming, our server friendly and attentive, and other team wait staff helpful. The food was yummy and cocktails outstanding. The real stars of the show were the oysters - both the half shell and the dried - and the butter cookie banana cheesecake!

We were looking for a new seafood experience in Wilmington.
Decided on Coqina Fish Bar. So glad we did. Nice vibe.. not overly crowded on a Tuesday evening.
Great service at the bar with bar tender, Serenity. She was attentative and made me a key lime martini with graham cracker rim. My husband had an old fashion with Woodinville Bourbon. BOTH DRINKS WERE GREAT! Jason, the manager came out. He was Super friendly. Suggested the Blackened Seafood pasta FOR MY HISBAND. I had homemade cut French fries and peel AND EAT Steamed shrimp. My fav at most restaurants. It was really good here. By the way, we were the only African Americans in the restaurant. We were treated with the best professional and friendly service. One of my new best places for Wilmington! Oh and my top Criteria..
Thr bathroom was so clean!!
