The hours showed it was open so we drive to Edward Teach. But paper signs on the door said closed for renovations. If you are closed, how much edfort would it take to update your hours on Google……
Best peach lager there is!
Nice place. Good variety of beers. I personally enjoy their Pistol - helles/lager.
One of the friendliest breweries in Wilmington - Devils son IPA is one of my favorites
I love the history of Edward Teach the famed pirate so I was determined to check this spot out because I also like breweries. Their beer is great. I had the maple stout, the teaches peaches, and another beer that escapes me what it was but they were all great. I thought it was odd you could not have a flight after 5 , but I am guessing it has something to do with being busy. If you’re a beer enthusiast make sure you stop here when in Wilmington.
A review from the loft. The bar was full on a Friday at 6pm. So we took our beers upstairs. I liked my vanilla lager and Jo’s black lager. I also liked the white couch in the loft. Worth a visit if you like beer and are in Wilmington. If it’s busy head to the loft. Dogs are not allowed in the loft.
Love the pirate theme of the notorious Black Beard.
Good beer selection, large bar, outdoor seating, live music, upstairs loft for private events or just hanging out on the comfy sofa.
Awful management and staff is treated horribly. There are plenty of breweries in Wilmington that deserve your business more than this one!
This brewery has a nice location but the owner is often drinking there and he starts arguments with patrons. He's yelled about how "woke lesbians" ruin everything when a woman didn't want to be touched instead of apologizing, and is now so scared of people knowing how he acts he's suing people who share their stories. He's also blocking people on social media who comment on it so potential patrons don't have a chance to hear these stories and make up their own minds. There's a reason they allegedly had an employee walk out in late 2022 over toxic work environment and why so many former employees and vendors share stories about the owner not paying or being hard to work for. The beer is mediocre at best and sadly I can no longer support a bar run by someone who doesn't respect the community much less our wonderful LGBTQ+ members and artists.
Wilmington deserves better.
Great beer and cool taproom to hangout in!

I go to Edward Teach every time I visit Wilmington because the beers there are really awesome - some of my favorite brewery beers anywhere. What a great building - an old firehouse that was really nicely redone to accommodate this brewery. And at the times when they've had music on my visits, the quality and sound levels are perfect.
One of my favs ever! Bartenders were really great and loved the old fire station building. So much character in this space! Loved the beer as well! A lot of variety to choose from. A definite place to go and can't wait to go back with friends!!!
Great place to meet friends and drink excellent craft beer.
Mediocre beer at best. The only thing that keeps them rolling is location and being a Trumpster hot spot. Too many awesome breweries in Wilmington making wayyyy better beer to waste your money here!
My fiancé loves this brewery. He comes every time he’s in town and made me go this last time. The place is very cool on the inside and they had some acoustic live music going. The sour was great, sadly I don’t remember the name. The “brew tender” was very kind and fun to talk to. We will definitely be back next time we are around!
