Great place for authentic Mexican food.
Drinks and food were superb.The staff was friendly and attentive. It also is a fun and inviting atmosphere. Ronaldo the manager was top notch and on point with his recommendations.

Food is bland and boring. Edible, but far from being anything close to authentic. Service is fine. They pay real close attention to what you're doing! Atmosphere is just meh, like any other chain-type restaurant. Nothing special. No need to go out of your way to visit. You'll leave full but underwhelmed.

El Cerro has been our go-to since the Galleria Wrightsville Beach days. Not only do we love the food, we love the people. It feels more like family when we visit, our little girl has literally grown up going there weekly.
All the servers are great and the bar tenders are fantastic. Especially Gina, she remembers our preferences and often reminds us if we forget to ask for something a certain way and ensures my very particular husband gets the food prepared the way he wants.
Dietary restrictions: My husband has dietary restrictions that change almost weekly - low sodium one week, watch potassium the next. This is one of the few places we to that we know will get it right every time
Kid-friendliness: My little girl has been going there since the week she came home and is now 7. She loves the staff and food as much as we do. When we visit without her everyone asks about her.

This is my favorite El Cerro Grande location. The food comes out quick and I've never had a bad meal. My wife and I like to get the Fajitas for Two, which always ends up being enough for leftovers.

Was wearing my Trump fight fight fight t-shirt and after being seated the wait staff intentionally ignored us. We left and won’t ever be going back.

Me and my boss always get Sarah or Amy, she has great memory, we always get same thing, great food, she's extremely polite and on top of things, very respectful, and manager is a really great guy also, always comes to table and makes sure everything's great

Fairly authentic. Good sauces from kitchen. The Burritos Mexicanos and the Pollo Fundino are stars. While the table salsa is excellent, their chips could use some improvement.

This is my go to place for lunch! Their chile rellenos are the best thing on the planet and the servers are top notch. Sarah is normally my server and she is so attentive and makes sure we have everything we need and is always so pleasant. Not to mention she always has a smile on her face and is always so polite!!! Ronaldo and Susie are the best managers and we always have the best experience! 12/10 stars for comfort, affordability, and service!

El Cerro Grande is a Wilmington staple for authentic Mexican food, from the fajita buritto to the chile relleno you can’t go wrong! Our server, Sarah, is our favorite! Sarah is on top of making sure we are taken care of and that the skinny margaritas never run out! The managers, Ronaldo and Suzie, are either creating amazing drinks behind the bar or checking with your table to ensure the quality is perfection. 11/10 stars for this location!

Smallest chimichangas I've ever seen. The birria was dry and lacked flavor. No sauce was given and the fries were soggy. The service staff was friendly but food was horrible, and over priced.
