El Cerro Grande Mexican Restaurant

We had a birthday celebration yesterday after church. We have been long time visitors to El Cerro Grande at Monkey Junction.. We’ve never had such poor service than yesterday. From a lack of follow up, no napkins, drinks empty and worst of all my wife ordered the grilled fish tacos but they came with fried fish. The resulting send back to the kitchen meant we all finished our meals before they finally brought the right order but it too had refried beans and not the black beans my wife ordered. She just took the plate. We she obviously could not finish, she asked for a to go box, but that too never appeared until I asked another server for one. Look, we love coming here on Sundays after church and for special occasions but come on staff, get back to your excellent service and another thing, I did not appreciate the photographer doing videos of us without permission to post on Instagram. After I stared him down he finally asked if it was alright. Not good given today’s need for some semblance of privacy. There should be a warning when you enter or this staff member needs to quit doing this altogether.

This was our second time here in a week and a half! The first time, I had the Enchilada Sampler (4 chicken enchiladas with 4 different sauces) and it was so good I almost ordered it a second time. I'm glad I didn't because last night I had the Queso Birrias (tacos with pot-roast-like beef filling and cheese) and they were delicious. I had a little left over, which I just had for lunch, and I hated for it to be gone! The margaritas here are wonderful. It's not fancy, but really good!

Visiting my son he suggested we eat here. I had the Veggie Sincronizada. I am a vegetarian since 1982 and this was the best Mexican dish I have ever had! Service was excellent, guacamole was great and the sangria was pretty darn good. I’ll come back every time I visit. Highly recommended!

Authentic delicious food that’s reasonably priced. Inviting atmosphere with friendly staff.

Just ordered Doordash through this place - they sent the COMPLETE wrong order and we’ve been calling them for at least 10 min and their phone number does not work. It just goes straight to voicemail that their mailbox is full. Doordash says to contact the restaurant for the correct food but y’all won’t answer the phone!

Very clean and very Mexican ambiance. I don't enjoy Mexican food-until I ate here. That kind of says it all. My wife has been here and loved it. She was right. They were playing american music and I requested mexican. That made it more authentic. Friendly employees. A good value.

Always a great experience. From walking through the door, greeted with a genuine smile, if there’s a wait it’s not very long, communicating frequently with the parties on the waitlist. Greeted quickly, great drinks, order was quick and accurate. Definitely get a bang for your buck. Didn’t feel rushed to pay and get out. Multiple employees telling us to enjoy our night and to come back soon. We will, like we always do.

It's one of my favorite places to eat, But I have been 3 times in the last 6 months, and each time I have been served on a chip plate.i won't be back. There lost. I no it's against health depmeant violation rules. You should really talk with your dishwasher about this and toss them out. Shame on you guys

I love going to El Cerro for a bite at lunch. The chili relleno is my go to! Our regular server, Sarahi, is awesome. She is super attentive and always ensures that we have a great time!

Always pretty good Mexican food. It's not your Tex Mex or more authentic Mexican cuisine. If your looking for a good meal at a fair price and great service you can't go wrong with El Cerro.

Food was good but the service was incredibly slow. Our meals were delivered one hour after we ordered and the waiter didn't return to check in for 20 more minutes. One order was wrong but who can wait that long?? We had to flag down someone to get our check.
