For sure the best seafood restaurant in NC. Service was fast and great. Food is fresh and delicious. The portion is much bigger than I expected. I like the variety of food, especially not everything fried. Cakes are bombs too. Worth every single penny. Will come back at all times.

Wonderful place to eat!! We stumbled upon this cozy atmosphere after searching for a good seafood experience and Fish Bites did not disappoint!! We were greeted immediately upon entering. Ferris (I hope I spelled correctly) was great! She suggested the Bang Bang Shrimp special and Grouper Fish Bites and BOTH were a healthy portion!! Anytime we're in the area, I know what's for dinner!! Thank you for an exceptional experience!

We enjoyed the fish (flounder)and chips special. Incredibly fresh, perfectly battered, enormous portions. Excellent service. Staff and owner sincerely delighted to be of service and present a fabulous meal. Every meal that came out of the kitchen looked delicious…. Ohooo, ahaaa, and smiling recipients made me think our meals were not an exception but the house rule. Just what we have been looking for and missing for years…. Like the old days, unpretentious seating, exceptional quality, generous portions, great service…. true value for the dollar!!!! Finally, a restauranteur that has figured it out. Fish Bites, the only restaurant we are eager to return to. Not intending to bash but, we recently dined at Cape Fear Seafood with a guest. We have had decent meals there in the past. Frankly, the whole experience was FLAT….. the food, cocktails, service, seating…. Not bad, just FLAT. No joy, just another table in a big room waiting for the delivery of “unexceptional.” Fish Bites tastes and feels authentic. CFS tastes and feels commercial. I prefer a real deal.

Delicious seafood. Beware that seating is limited and it's very popular.

Giant portions of fresh fish. Many different options.

A little cramped but I think its because its so popular.

Good, fresh seafood.
Shrimp and grits was excellent.
Service was prompt and courteous, did feel a bit rushed as it is a really small dining g room and other patrons waiting for tables made it feel quite crowded.
Overall VERY good by ILM standards
Get there early.

Wow! The food and service were TOP NOTCH here! Laid back, casual dining room experience with the freshest of seafood were just what we were looking for. DO NOT LET THE LOCATION DETER YOU! The warmest atmosphere, the owner came out several times to check on us, learn about us and was very engaging! Our waitress, Julianna was oh so sweet and very attentive. Our food was so delicious. We were in town for a family funeral from TN, but needed our fresh seafood fix (originally from St. Augustine, FL) and this fit the bill. The only place with a fresh lobster tank - hubby got a 2.5lb lobster, I opted for the mussels appetizer which was huge! Followed by the Fish Bites Feast for 1. Clams, mussels, oysters (never was a fan til my trip here), shrimp, corn, sausage, potatoes. It was SO good, only thing left on my plate was the corn, lol. They bring a large pail to throw your shells out. Finished it up with a gigantic slice of pumpkin cake! This is a MUST GO place when in Wilmington, NC.

First visit and was impressed. The food was great! I had the shrimp & grits. The cakes are a must, even if you get a piece to go!

We wanted seafood and had no idea how lucky we were to find this place. There is no downside here. The food was stellar! we had the seafood stew, ponzu tuna, lobster bisque, seared sesame crusted tuna, fish tacos, lobster and shrimp, shrimp balls and the most perfect raw oysters on the half shell that I've ever tasted. The drinks were great, the service was friendly, very knowledgeable and accommodating. We didn't have room for dessert but got it anyway and were grateful we did. It seems there is nothing they don't do very, very well. Such a great, fun, delicious experience!!!
